Ok so I’m POD14 and I’ve developed a lovely cough and sore throat… what I have noticed is every time I cough I get a very weird ‘electric shock’ type feeling behind my nipple. What the hell is that about?!! Anyone else had a similar experience??? Xx

I did after I had one of my little ones, I think it’s just where you slightly pull a few of the neaves, as you are swollen this could be the same kind of thing. X

Thanks for the reply Claire, I was starting to panic, I read somewhere it may be nerve related 🙂 x

I have had a horrible cough throughout my recovery because I got ill the week before surgery. The initial week was so horrible I had to try to stop myself from coughing because it hurt so much to cough!
I still have a bit of a cough at post op day 14.
The electric shock feeling is probably nerves but I have heard that that feeling means they are healing so I wouldn’t worry.

Hi eevie, the cough is awful isn’t it! I’ve been holding my boobs when I can feel one coming on! Lol … the electric shocks are awful! Such a strange feeling! Xx

My nipples have been killing for the last 3 days ive tried breast pads and nipple cream theyve not really helped, it will pass just like all of the other pains and aches have, i think its nerves regenerating, it feels like the pain from a poor latch when breast feeding xxx

Yes it’s really not what you need at all when you’re recovering from breast surgery lol. I’ve been doing the same as you, holding them when I cough lol. I have got some cough mix now, hopefully it will help a little! xx
