I’m soooo worried about getting stretch marks from the new boobs! :( In the past i have put on weight quickly and got a few stretch marks on my boobs (only tiny ones) and my thighs, so that to me says that i am prone to getting them?? Has anyone had the op and developed stretch marks? Is it rare to get them after the op, help? :(

    Menu

Good question, I wouldnt mind knowing too! I have some already from having kids on my boobs, wonfer if the op will make them better or worse?? : xx

    Menu

When i had my first consultation i asked the lady there about it and she said that its not going to make them look any better, but as for making them worse im not sure?? I’m due to see Mr Singh on 4th May, so will ask him when i see him! I would be devastated if i had my new boobies and they were covered in stretch marks! :(

    Menu

Same! It would kind of put a downer on it wouldnt it!! :( I’ll ask my surgeon on wednesday too, fingers crossed! xx

    Menu

If you could let me know what your surgeon says about it that would be great! :) Yes fingers crossed! xx

Girls,I think if they’re gonna happen they’re gonna happen! Lots of us used bio-oil and cocoa butter from a few weeks pre-op to soften up the skin around ur boobs but some people on here saying tendancy to stretch marks is genetic?? Not sure whether or not that’s true tho xx

    Menu

Yeah thats completely true, if you mum, sister ect has them then you are much more likey to have them too. I think if the doctor told me that there was a very high risk of getting them, then this would really put me off! :( Bio oil is good but never gets rid of them, they just fade. Oww im really hoping that he is going to say i wont get them, but i suppose he cant guarantee that! I’m just wondering that because i have a few already from putting on weight quickly would that mean that id be more likey to get them? Obviously the skin is going to be stretched very suddenly, so my skin type may not cope with that! xx

    Yep i’ll defo let u know hun :) I’ll add u so i can find u easily! :) xx

I think everybody is different n has nothin to do with genetics. My mum has loads of stretch marks on her stomach after 2 pregnancies with me n my bro but I av none aft avin my 2 kids. I smothered myself in johnsons baby lotion every day from as soon as my bump started growing n I’m ok. Hoping it has the same effects on my boobs now as I began using it 4wk prior to op x

Start putting bio oil on 2 weeks pre op just to soften up the skin as much as you can. I was REALLY worried about this too pre op and I even had some existing ones on there that only the surgeon pointed out to me. I didn’t even know I had them until you stretched my boobie out! After having my op I don’t have 1 stretch mark (not even the pre existing one)!!! xxx

i was really really worried bout this, it stopped me havin it done a few years ago coz my mum is covered in them n they say you take after your mum n i have a few on my hips, n im really skinny so thought my skin would stretch more, but i didnt get a single 1 n i didnt put any creams on or anything!!

I wouldnt worry too much, its hard to predict if you will or you wont get them. I used bio oil and cocoa butter months before my op and 3 weeks after my op. I had no stretch marks untill around 8 weeks post op, so could be a couple of months before you get them (you can see in my pics) I only have a few and they are really starting to fade now. Dont worry a few stretch marks wont matter once you have the boobies you love xxx

When can we start using bio-oil and cocoa butter post-op? Is it after steri-strops off at 7 days? xx

    Menu

I’d still avoid the scar sassivet – just to be safe.

Well I have a few really old stretch marks but they are small and you can hardly see them.

Use lots of high intensity moisturisers before the op, 2 weeks or more.

I always drink a litre of water a day too. I know it sounds loads but it’s easy done. This improves the elasticity in your skin so will help your skin stretch :)

Just be super attentive to them over the next few weeks and it’ll pay off.

    xx

Hey i put cocoa butter and bio oil leading up to my op, about a month before hand to soften the skin and prepare it for being stretched. I was told by my surgeon that i was likely to get them as i was having a large implant for the amount of breast tissue i had, but turns out i have not even one stretch mark and i am now 7 months post op, i don’t know how much of a help the bio oil and cocoa butter really was but worth a try. It is said that if your mum had them, then the chances of you having them are higher but don’t think that is set in stone. xx

My sister and mum have them and i got them from putting on weight too quickly. They look better now ive lost the weight, not as noticeable. That’s why im really worried coz ive got them before from my skin stretching too quickly. Ashley, can i ask did you have any before the op? xx

Hey loulou, no I didn’t have any before the op. If you add me as a friend you can see my pics although i don’t have any before ones, bt I had nothing to begin with, was an AA cup. I have heard of situations where implants can make existing stretch marks look less obvious as they are stretched out they are more faint xx

ok thanks hun, ill add you:) xx

I had loads of little White ones all over my boobs from when I put on weight quickly when I was younger. I have big ones all over my hips too so am sooooo worried about getting new ones on my boobs. So far so good, I’ve been putting cocoa butter and bio oil on them every day even though my doctor says that won’t do anything, if you’re going to get them you are no matter what. The ones I had before seem to not be as noticeable as they’re stretched out more and don’t look so bad. No sign of new ones yet but it can creep up at anytime, even six months after :( my surgeon said that about once a year he’ll see a girl who’s boobs look like a road map because they’re so covered in stretch marks….. But that’s one out of god knows how many. So fingers crossed, think it’s just one of those things you either get them or you don’t! Good luck girls! Xx

I have a few on my bottom from putting weight on and then losing it so quick when I was younger, their light though, only noticeable in natural light. Hoping I don’t get any on my new boobs! My mam has them on her boobs from them growing so quick when pregnant too :S I’m gonna plaster the bio oil and cocoa butter on from today! Anything that can help! x x

thanks for the info suzyp! It’s a scary thought to think you could be ok for 6 months then…….BAMM, stretch marks! Think id cry! I’ll have to see what Mr Singh says next week, but it kinda seems they cant guarantee either way! :( xx
