    Hi everyone,
I’ve wanted a BA for as long as I can remember. This could be an option for me in about 2 years (when my youngest daughter is 5). I have read a lot about Breast Implant Illness and it is a concern of mine. I’d like to hear from other women who have chosen to go ahead with a BA in acknowledgement of this risk, and how you assessed the risk. There is a lot of scaremongering and I want to talk to as many women as possible and get a rounded picture so I can go ahead with peace of mind and awareness. I hope to hear from you 🙂

Hi I always wanted a BA had many humiliating experiences over the years, my worry at the time was the implants leaking but I talked it over with the surgeon and he reassured me. I must admit I have been a bit concerned about the illness but as my implants are in and I am healthy I just put it to the back of my mind. I have also been involved in a pilot for breast cancer screening with implants with the NHS they do the normal scan then just scan the natural boob after. The main question is whether you’re prepared to accept the risk which I was and you can always have them removed later hope this helps?

Hey!! I had my BA 2.5 years ago & it’s definitely the best thing I did! If it’s something you really want then go for it! In my opinion, breast implant illness is a mental illness, the symptoms are so broad it would be absolutely impossible for it to be real!! There’s about 30 ‘symptoms’, if you didn’t have implants you’d have nothing to blame! I had raging anxiety before my implants & I have raging anxiety now, I also had a lot of the symptoms of ‘BII’ before my boob job, a lot of it is mind over matter & the majority of surgeons would agree. If you convince yourself your symptoms are because of your implants then having them removed will psychologically make you feel better if that makes sense? Don’t worry about it too much, do what makes you feel happy xxx

There’s also no clinical evidence to support that silicone implants can give you any of those symptoms, try not to worry xxx

Beth, how can you say with such confidence that BII is a ‘mental illness’!? I wouldn’t wish what I’ve been through on my worse enemy. I had a BA with MYA 10 years ago, never did I think I would have issues but I was wrong. I started having symptoms 3 months after my son was born, he is now having so many issues as well. I’ve met multiple women in the same boat as me, many children are being affected by toxic implants. We have both been tested and have extremely high levels of heavy metals. Do your research before giving uneducated advice.

So sorry to hear that, how horrible for you and your son! Do you still have the implants or have you removed them? I’ve just had mine done for the second time and my surgeon went into detail of all the risks, specifically Breast Implant Ilness so surgeons definitely take it very seriously!
