Water Retention?! Bloated?! I feel like a whale!!!

Hi girls,

Just wondering if anyone else has had water retention since the op? I’ve not eaten loads because i’ve not really been that hungry and the antibiotics have been giving me indigestion, but I’m struggling to fasten what were loose pants, and can’t see my abs any more! on my hips if i ‘tickle’ the skin lightly it looks like I’m jiggling a food bag full of chocolate custard! lol!

I’m also 10st 7lb now and was 9st 12 before the op (3 days ago) and i only had 350cc in each so I don’t think its the boobie weight! I feel like a whale! I’m 5’10 so used to fluctuating in weight a bit because My frame can carry it generally but this much in a few days is ridiculous!

I also haven’t been to the loo (for solids :|) since the op now despite taking the laxatives as advised!

Any tips?!

Sometimes this happens because of the medication …to help you go for a number two – try drinking prune juice and add fibre to your diet. Weetabix is usually good with things like that as well…Once you flush it out your system I’m sure the bloating will go..hope you don’t mind the add hun xx

I haven’t been the loo for a no2 since last Tuesday 31st April, I have some lactulose to soften I always struggle going with suffering from constipation a lot, I try to stick to gluten free but I’ve not been eating much, but I literally look 8 months preg and feel huge, even huger because I’m all swollen, I’ve been drinking tons of water but it hasn’t seemed to help xxxx

I weigh 7lbs heavier too lol xxx

Hi ladies, i am going through the same thing. I look pregnant, i haven’t dared weigh myself lol. I manged to go to the loo naturally 3 days post op but still very bloated. I am hoping it will go down soon 🙂 x

My god I thought it was just me – such a relief to know other girls are having the same issues!

My op was on Wednesday 1 April and I’ve hardly eaten and not been able to go for a #2 despite feeling the need!

I actually had rolls on my back/sides the day after the op. I feel enormous – my belly is awful and wobbly! I hope it subsides soon!

my op was on wednesday too and I haven’t been to the loo for #2 since the day before my op. so currently got 5 days worth of congestion haha. I’m going to take some senna tonight to see if that will shift things along because I’m generally feeling very puffy and bloated at the moment

Oh thank god it’s not just me! I thought i had somehow put on loads of weight having not been able to exercise (normally I go to the gym 6 times a week, so this resting lark is hard for me to deal with mentally!)

I do have some prunes in the cupboard- i’m now worried that if I have the prunes (on top of the laxatives and the melon i’ve eaten) that I might have the opposite effect and I’m just about to go out and visit my friends brand new house! Could be embarrassing!

I might stop the co-codamol tomorrow morning as the pain isn’t too bad now so I think I might be ok on paracetamol and brufen. I’ve never been so round! Even my husband was laughing at me and said he could see a line around my middle where my pants had been!

Oh dear. I was prepared for pain but not for the puffiness!

LOL Francesca – terrible isn’t it – we get our dream boobs but lose our normal bodies haha! Just hope it all subsides after 7 days!

Lol all you ladies have described exactly how i’m feeling so glad it’s not just me…. sick of all these drugs in my system now bleurghhhh, feel sick, got a pounding headache, and need the loo but can’t! Xx
