I’m deliberately not weighing myself as I know I’m bloated, my stomach is enormous. It is just water retention after a GA and surgery and should get better in a couple of weeks. It will only make me feel worse if I get on the scales!

Hi Helen I’m the same Hun and it’s really getting me down 🙁 9wks po and I’ve put on nearly a stone! I’m mortified! I eat well and have lived in the gym since I got the all clear to start again but haven’t even shifted a pound! It all seems to be centred around my belly bum and thighs. My clothes are tight and my belly bloats every time I eat! Never read that this was a possible side effect! Xx

Hi, I’m 8 weeks post op and back to my normal size, in fact, I’ve lost a bit of weight. I think most people will lose that extra weight, might just take a bit longer for you Helen? 🙂 Apart from the weight, how’s your recovery? xxx

Yeah same day I think Helen? I done a bit of research and asked a physio and apparently it can take up to 6 months fur some people to return to normal after an op. It’s a mixture of hormones (stress hormones can make you store fat) and the body swelling and retaining water to repair trauma after an op. It’s getting me down too as no matter what I do it’s not shifting. I’m a trained PT so I know I’m doing all the right things ie using more calories than I eat! Gonna be saving up for lipo at this rate! Ha! Xx

10th may for me. Yeah seems like ages ago now I cant remember not having my boobies! Clothes fit so much better too. My incisions look great. Just need to shift this weight before I go to Vegas next moth as I cant wait to show them off in a bikini and not have boob envy that I usually do on holiday! x

Yeah I can’t wait! It’s gonna be amazing!
I’ve been using bio oil, only started a week ago so kit seen any change yet really but I think you have to use it for 3 month? And palmers cocoa butter massage lotion for stretch marks on my boobs which seems to be working as I’ve had no stretch marks so far which I’m surprised at as the skin on my boobs is still real tight xx

Hi @helenelizabethxx and @abs2109. I am exactly the same. I’m nearly 5 months PO and am still struggling to shift the weight. I waa 9st 5 on op day and anything from 9 stone 12 to 20stone these days. I’ve been gym-ing like crazy and eating well during the week but to be fair eat junk on the weekends (but I did this before and still lost weight). I feel hungry all the time, nothing seems to fill me up and I also feel so bloated all the time 🙁 what am I doing wrong!? My ass feels huge and even my arms feel flabby – with only gaining 6-9 lbs!! It’s like my muscles won’t tone anymore? ? I was doing so well before my surgery – lost 8lb in 7 weeks and inches off my waist and hips. Now it’s ruined and I feel like my boobs make me look chubby!x
