Weirdest consultation ever!!

So I booked in to see Mr Traynor as I am now 6 months post op and I still have a noticeable asymmetry! First of all they were runnin late, 1 hour 15 mins late!! And you can really tell who is pre op and who’s money they already have! Anyway when I finally got into see Mr T it was really strange, firstly I was worried my leftie was bottoming out as the implant seems to be all in the bottom and not alot of upper fullness and I don’t have a crease. He told me I wasn’t bottoming out and that was as far down as the implant was goin to go, unless he lowered it an gave me a big scar on the top of my boobs. Also that unless he surgically moved my nipple then my leftie will always be higher than my right.

I said it wasnt really bothered about where my nipples were it was the size difference that was the issue. Then he was askin me what size I think should have gone in there? I was like well erm I dunno you’re the surgeon?! I had 415 and 485 by the way. He said he could never make them look the same as boobs never look the same which I accept and then seemed perplexed about why i was there, saying he never said he could make them symmetrical. I told him I knew that and knew they will never be exactly equal but I thought they would be more equal than this. So he wrote it all in my notes and asked who my PC was and pretty much said he would let her decide what she thinks about a re op and she would call me in a couple of days. This is the bit that really confused me cos shouldn’t it be the surgeon who says yes or no to a re op rather than the PC? Or was he just trying to fob me off? Xx

It sounds to me like hes trying to make out that you dont have a problem as ‘boobs never look the same’ but in my opinion hes a qualified and experienced surgeon who should of been able to make them look as similar in size as he possibly could. so i dont think making out that theres nothing wrong is acceptable. I also dont think it is down to your pc for a re-op. Id demand he sort this out hun, youve paid alot of money for him to!

I have never seen a post like this before,it is most definitely the surgeon that makes the decision,how strange,have you contacted your pc to ask what is going on,and ask how is she qualified to make that decision,xx

It was just so bizarre! I came out doubting myself slightly but then I though no, they aren’t gonna wanna do a re op for free so they are obviously gonna try and talk me out of it and then I looked at my pics and thought no I am right!

Rachel250 you are right he is a qualified and experienced surgeon and I put my trust in him and paid a lot of money, far more than some other companies charge, to get it right and I am pretty gutted to be honest!

Tina my PC wasn’t there and after finally gettin to my appointment at 8:15pm when it should have been at 7pm then havin an hour and a half drive home I figured I’d speak to her tomorrow when I’ve had a chance to think things over xx

Woops I meant to say its unacceptable not acceptable! I’d call your pc asap tomorrow and tell her how dissappointed you are with the results and that you felt he wasn’t being helpful and said it was up to her to decide on re-op and hopefully she will be just as confused as we all are! Sorry that this has happened to you, it isn’t fair that you should have to pay all that money for them not to be corrected and then told ‘well no boobs ever look perfect’ not from the surgeon whose job is to make boobs look good!xx

He made me feel like I was being a bit silly really but at the end of the day I paid out 4 grand and while I’m not expecting miracles I did expect better than this xx

Mr c said there was nothing wrong with my droopy implantss after only 6months of my op!!!..then suggested how to correct them!

If there was no issue.why suggest how to correct sonething thats ok!?

Dont stand for it. Get a second opinion.and get ur pc in the room at the same time to witness the outcome.

Leaving you in limbo is not acceptable!

Hmmm how strange. I don’t think he’s fobbing u off cos I know a few people who have had reops no questions asked with him, also he’s looking at me in may, as couldn’t make apr appt to see if I need one for my creases.

Sounds like a well strange consultation, I wonder if reops have to be cleared with people higher before the surgeon is allowed now! Xx

A PC would surely be lower down in the chain than the surgeon though?! also with no medical knowledge i dont think really.. it all seems so strange! xx

Sorry to hear this Amy! I am in the same situation only I haven’t been for my 6 month check as Im too afraid! I know I will be fobbed off exactly like you have been and I hate confrontation!! My boobs aren’t right at all, all the implant sits in the bottom!

But yes Mr T is meant to be the expert and he should have been able to make your boobs equal size no problem!!

I am saving for a re-op now and Im going with a different company.

I tell everyone who will listen about my experience with MYA and a couple of my friends have decided not to use MYA. Biggest regret of my life having my BA with them!

Sassyxsam I never thought of that and he did start suggesting sizes and why would he do that if there is nothing wrong? What is happening with you? Have you got it sorted?

Fairy I thought maybe my PC would have to clear with head office and again why even bother askin if there was nothing wrong and he was happy with the results he’d given me?

Tracey sorry you arent happy either. Maybe you should go back with someone and write everything down that you wanna say and try not to back down. I was fobbed off at my 3 month check which is fair enough they were still settling but when he tried fobbing my off last night I got really mad lol. I was like no you have had over 4 grand of mine and my boyfriends hard earned cash, maybe that’s not alot to you but it is to us now bloomin fix it!!! Lol Xx

So Lizzie from MYA saw my post (or was told) and has rang me today. My PC Kayleigh is off sick so Lizzie is gonna be dealing with me until Kayleigh comes back. She said she is slightly confused too and it is the surgeons decision about whether or not someone gets a re op. I said i wasn’t sure if I was getting fobbed off and she said not to worry that Mr Traynor is always very honest and direct, which i have always found before, and that it has probably just been a misunderstanding.

Anyway she said that they are gonna have to ask me to come back in and have a consultation specifically about the possibility of a re op. I was like hold on i thought thats what i came for on Thursday?? I was slightly annoyed at this point as it costs me £20 in petrol plus parking every time but luckily i will be in Manchester on 11th May anyway and so will Mr Traynor so booked an appointment then (fingers crossed they wont be runnin over an hour late this time!) So i will see what is said then! xx

Fairys probaby right after a arnt the surgeons employed by mya?? Mr traynor was the most straight talking and honest surgeon i saw he cut all the bullshit and got straight to the point im sorry this has happened to you hope it all gets sorted soon xxx
