I would definitely get pj’s that do up at the front. I also suggest getting small things like straws for drinks (makes life so much easier) and a few flannels. I got one of the long pregnancy pillows which has saved my life and I honestly think I’ve slept better in the past week than I have in the last 5 years!!

Get some Soothers or Halls and some mints. After the general anaesthetic I had such a sore, dry throat!

Ah yes I forgot about that! They put a tube down your throat don’t they ? God I’m scared ha xx

Yes! Call me naive but I was under the impression the anaesthetic was going to be a drip via the iv in my hand. Turns out the iv is for the initial sedative to knock you out, THEN they put the tube in haha! You’ll be thankful for the throat sweets, not even water was helping! Luckily it wore off by the next day 🙂

P.s don’t be scared, you don’t even realise you’re being put to sleep, it all happens so fast ?

I didn’t realise about the tube down the throat til I read my paperwork from my pre op! Then looked into it, then crapped myself even more ha!! I’ll have my soothers and mints at the ready!! Dreading it ?? xxx
