What if your on your period on the big day :(

I have the coil and having looked at my dates I think I may be on when I get my BA. How awful! Anybody been in this situation? I’ll definitely be on during my first week post op. I’m not that heavy usually but I get awful cramps, talk about double wammy I’m SO worried about what I’m going to do when I go into theatre in those paper knickers! WHY??!!! X

From what i hear the nurses will put a pad on you and i’m sure they’ll change it if you can’t. It’s a pain i know but at least you will be on pain meds anyway so probably won’t notice the cramps!

Yeah hun, I was on my period during the op… luckily at the end of it though. Nurse asked me to remove my tampon. She came back with this HUGE pad to wear in the sexy paper knickers. I have never seen anything like it, was the thickness of a nappy. Dont let that put you off though As soon as I came round and was more with it I disposed of said ‘nappy’ and put a tampon in myself. Didnt feel any pain or anything as I think I was pumped full of pain meds anyway. Whens your op now hun?

hey hunni dont wurry i was on my period wen i had my op.it doesnt make any dif just let the nurse no coz she will she u diff type ov paper pants 2 wear 4 ur op.as far as changin ur pad u wil b fine 2 get up an go 2 the loo aslng as the 1st tym the nurse helps u just incase u feel bit funny frm anethesic.hope this helps xx

Rachel… you had a different type of paper pants? Did they have like an inbuilt pad? lol! Wish I had been offered that

Thanks girls! Solong as I can change my pads myself I’ll be fine and your right about the pain Meds, fingers crossed I won’t feel a thing I’m not looking forward to having to wear a ‘nappy’ though..the things we do for a bigger bust x

Hey hun no didn’t have built in pad but nurse gave me betta pants 2 hold the pad lol x

Oh but what if you’re at a particular time in your cycle and your breasts swell or lose volume? I have the implanon in my left arm as contraceptive but as a consequence haven’t had a regular cycle for years…so I can never predict what shape my lil puppies will take on next!
