What 'Pill' should I switch to???

Hey girls Im on the contraceptive pill Microgynon but it makes me feel like im gonna cry all the time, then I DO cry and Im always hungry and have put on weight since I started on it and get really angry really easy etc…What pills are you girls on and what do you recommend?? Im going to go to my GP this week about it and see if I can switch pills, but would like some more advice from you girlies…sorry this has nothing to do with BAs xxxx

I cant have the implant Im SHIT scared of needles and all the women in my family say it fucked them up so Im guessing me being MADE from a mix of their DNAs and stuff that it would probably fuck me up too

Awww right shame. . I was same with the pill tried 5 kinds. I kept getting head aches and stomach cramps was horrid!! Implant made me loose sooo much weight!! Strange one!! Xx

well prescriptions are FREE for all in Scotland now so hopefully Ill get a new pill for no extra cost!!! lol

Hey bexepie I was on Microgynon not a good pill its the cheapest made of all and I fell pregnant with my youngest on it even tho I took it religiously had no sickness or anti-biotics to stop it working I know quite a few people that have fell pregnant off it wouldnt reccomend it to anyone bad moodswings etc . I had the non hormonal coil put in, it lasts 10 years it doesnt really hurt having it inserted just a tad uncomfy but its great totally forget its there and no hormones or anything to affect u xxxx

do they only give you that once youve had children???

No thats a myth ha u can have it regardless speak to your Doc or family planning theyll do it for you xxx

I had the same problems on Microgynon too – crazy mood swings and crying all the time. I’ve been on Noriday for 2/3yrs and I haven’t had any problems, it’s a pill without oestrogen in it so you don’t get a load of added hormones. You take one everyday without taking a break so no periods either! xx

what age ar eyou mememe??? Im 20 and dont know if certain ones are likely to make you infertile or something, just incase your older and have already had children???

Nope im 22. I also asked my doctor about the infertility scares and he said theres nothing to be worried about. If you want a pill that will stop all the moodswings etc noriday is the best xx

i was on microgynon too hun & made me put loads of weight on, went to my gp who gave me noriday its a mini pill and been great ever since! no symtoms..gradually lost the weight without doing anythin differently, just you have to take it everyday with no breaks and at same time everyday, also have very light periods and it def recommend it1 dnt think u can have it if ur a smoker tho xx

nah i dont smoke or anything and hardly ever drink I will DEFFO be asking my GP about all of these options thanks girls yous are REALLY helpful xx

i was on noriday for years, then when we wanted to try for our baby i stopped taking it and was pregnant within weeks!lol so cant say it affected my fertility either.. back on it now & no problems ur welcome bexepie good luck xx

what do you do about noriday and going on holidays to countries with a BIG time difference???

hmmm im not too sure about that 1 hun but id say as long as its taken at same time every say it shud be fine but id just double check with ur gp… tbh iv missed a few hrz here n ther and was ok..lol i think it jus very quicky gets out of ur system if you forget xx

I’m on the mini pill but have put on so much weight tht I will be having the coil refitted in the nx mth. I have the one tht can stay in 4 5 yrs so its brill it is easier to fit if you have had kids but you can have one inserted even if you havnt x

Hey I was put on microgynon and it made me put on weight and it also gave me spots. I was switched to mercillon which has much lower oestrogen levels. There is also another one which I am on temporarily because for some reason I cant get mercillon at the mo called loestren xx

Im perfectly fine off microgynon n had it for about 9 years n never been pregnant lol think every1s different. I was considering the implant but then figured id prob want kids in next 3 years so stuck with the pill x

iv been switched to Mercilon WOO! lol lets see how THIS goes thanks for your help girlies xxxx

I’m not on the pill but am wondering if it would be worth it because just recently, the last 2/3 periods I’ve had, I’m so emotional and want to cry all the time. After my period, I’m fine. But would the pill make this worse because they’re full of hormones?x
