hi gemma, i had my ba done a week ago,and i know how you are feeling, but you dont need to worry they will look after you, as for the pain when you come round its more like presure on your chest rather than a sharp pain, and i didnt feel it was anywhere near as bad as i was thinking. the day after the opp you feel very bruised, but again your chest will just feel tight and a bit heavy, i know its different for everyone so i can only explain it as it has been for me, but most women have said the same.

As for sleeping make sure you have loads of pillows to prop you up as you cant lay flat for swelling reasons, its not brilliant sleep as you may wake feeling stiff, and it does help if you have someone there to help you up out of bed for the first couple of days, but it does get easier and a week on im feeling much better and can move more.

Also remember to take it really slow for the first week alot of sitting and no cleaning at all (good excuse) to put your feet up. I hope this helps a bit love let me know :D

thank you very much, I just cant wait for it to be over and done with so i can just deal with it lol! Also as I’m scared of needles someone recommended being put to sleep with gas and wondered what its like.

being put to sleep with gas is fine love, but to be honest the aneathetist (not sure if spelt right) she is amazing and i didnt even feel her put the drip in so you will be fine. but ask about gas if it makes you fell more at ease xx :D

hiya i had my ba done last wk , my mum bought me a v shaped pillow from the argos. they help you sleep better and support you while you sleep. i was in the asda the nxt day after my op and had a nite out 4 days after . the first 4 days are the most uncomfortable but then it gets easier xx
