Hey girlies! I’m getting a BA this June and I’m really excited, scared, nervous, all the rest of it! Just wondering though – how long did it really take you to recover from your op? I’m taking 2 weeks off work and just wondering if this will be enough. I know everybody heals differently but just thought if enough people share their stories I can get a good idea of what I should expect!

I didn’t prepare for there being any real pain or discomfort afterwards. I focused on sizes and scars etc so it was a shock to me to face the following: a) throwing up constantly after GA

    B) having drains fitted to me and being kept in hospital overnight

    C) sleeping upright!!!

    D) stiff and soreness in boobs, arms etc

    E) bloating and constipation

    F) emotional waves from lack of sleep

    G) inability to shower or feel pretty

    H) not being able to keep house as nice

    E) feeling fat from lack of exercise

But I wd say for me by week four all of those problems were gone. The main worry then was the angry look of my scars and some infected dissolvable stitches. But I am now week 12 and feeling great, boobs soft, things good scars fading and immglad I had the op. Just make sure you prepare yourself for the shock your body snd mind will go thru. It will all be worth it tho :) xxx

are you having overs or unders becouse unders have a longer recovery time saying that i had unders 1st 3 days were very painfull, day 5 i started driving only becouse i had too, i was back in work at day 7 but there was no manual work involved and everyone knew id had it done and kept a eye on me.

but id say it was 2 weeks before i totally felt like myself again.

you should be fine with 2wks recovery but listain to your body and take it as easy as possible during your recovery xx

I felt physically better at 3 weeks, and that’s when i felt up to driving again. However once the physical side got better, the dreaded “boobie blues” kicked in and really knocked me for six! I’d say I didn’t really feel myself again until 2 months post op. But I probably took longer than most as I was able to take a full month off work and i work from home anyway, so i didn’t push myself. I’d say if you give yourself a good week to rest, then get up and about and do light activities, get plenty of fresh air and drink lots of water to flush out the toxins, you’ll recover much faster xx

    PS I had unders x

Oh shit forgot to add – I had soooo many sleepless nights. I seriously has the WORST insomnia for about 2 weeks from week 2 onwards. It was hell!

    I had overs.

I was fine after the ga and had very little pain day 1.

Days 2 and 3 were the worst pain wise. Just felt really heavy and achey and couldn’t do much at all. I was lucky as I was able to sleep day and night. I slept upright on the sofa. I swear that all the sleeping helped my recovery as by day 4 the pain had subsided and I just had a bit of discomfort at my incisions.

By day 8 I was driving and back at work. x
