Hi ladies, I’m having 375hp overs on Saturday and I keep seeing posts about the drains and how they hurt.. I haven’t been told anything about this by my pc or surgeon can anyone explain what it is? Is it just for unders or? Xx

I had drains for partials , I think its surgeons preference.
They put a plastic drain tube from the side of the breast that leads in to a pot to drain off any bleeding you have post surgery its supposed to help stop risk of further complications like seromas etc .
Nothing to worry about at all
Mine had very tiny amounts of blood in each drain but the nurses all said its better for it to come out 🙂 xx

Honestly they don’t hurt. They’re just to drain extra fluid from your boobs after surgery. Their left in for 4 hours minimum post op and the nurse will remove them before you leave. Personally I’m quite glad my surgeon, Marcellino uses them. Whenever you hear about girls having squelchy noises and funny sounds in the days post op. Usually that’s due to excess fluid which will eventually dissipate through your body. But if they use drains you don’t get any of that. X

I had unders but never had drains and when i asked why i never had they said you didn’t seem to need any, surgeons weigh the pros and cons of using them because one of their side effects is that you can get infections so if they dont see you bleed so much during surgery they prefer not putting any
