Is there a rule fro when it’s ok to fly post procedure? I’m talking about a maximum of two hours flight 8-10 days post op.

How often do you have check ups with the nurse?

I’m basically leaving England going back my home country as my boyfriend got a job over there which for him would be madness to refuse . Just wondering how long I will have to stay behind:/

I was told six weeks because I’m flying 7 weeks after my BA xxx

Why 6 weeks?? Lot’s of people fly long before then post operations with their doctors blessing. I’m a nurse so I know they do!

For such a short flight I can’t imagine their reason for saying this will be the risk of a DVT as that chance would be extremely small . Maybe they are thinking of the pressure or something, but still…

hey, i work at easyjet which is short/medium haul and im going back to work after 2 weeks so you will be fine with a 2 hour flight but would wait till after 14 days x

Yeah, I think I’ll even be fine after 8 days, but I’m no expert and I don’t want to make a stupid mistake… People are even flying 2-3 days post op with no problems as far as I know. I will of course discuss the risks with my surgeon before I go ahead. Either way I need to know exactly why it won’t be safe for me taking such a short flight at the time where they say you even could go back to work if you want. Is causing risk of an internal bleeding for instance? I’m waiting at least 4-5 weeks before I’ll go back to work to avoid heavy lifting.
