When can i wear a normal bra??

Im almost a week po ive had no pain what so ever so pleased :)I’m having my tape off on tuesday i just wondered when i can start wearing nice bras as this sports one doesnt look very nice in my clothes. Dont get me wrong ill still be wearing it for bed n when im at home but when im out id like to look nice

Please, please don’t start wearing underwired bra’s yet. I know you may feel fine, I was exactly the same, no pain at all….but you’ve got loads of healing to do. If you start wearing underwired bra’s now they could rub on the incisions and re open them which could leave very nasty scarring and will be extremely painful. When stitches re open it’s not always immediately apparent so you may not notice; it may start off as a small hole, so you will be at a very high risk of infection which could also leave you with nasty scar tissue. Your skin is still extremely fragile so continue wearing the sports bra. It’s really not worth compromising your health because of a bra, but I know exactly how you feel. I’m sick and tired of wearing this ugly sports bra but I want to protect my new boobies.

If you want to wear a bra that looks good with clothes then I recommend the M & S post surgery bra as it looks like a normal one but it’s very soft, seamless and non wired.

You can’t wear a normal bra until you get the all clear from your surgeon at your 6 week check. Patience is the key x

Ahh thank you for letting me know I really had no idea when you could start wearing proper bras again. Least now ino roughly 6weeks when can I have a proper bath? Or is tht around the same time as the bra?xx

Not ALL surgeons c u for a 6 week check!

My 6 week check was with my nurse and i saw my surgeon at my 12 week check – it depends which surgeon you have so in a honesty check with your PC.

If i was you i wud ring ur pc and get the correct advice xx

However as a rule u cant wear underwired bras until u get the all clear at ur 6 week check xx

Next do a lightly padded t shirts bra, no wires, I wore mine on a night out 4 weeks post op, gave me a great cleavage and only £12, only online though.

Not sure about baths but I’m 5 weeks PO and I can only shower at the mo

I had a bath from 3 weeks but my surgeon said 12 weeks for a normal bra altho I sunbathed in my bikini for a few hrs today and iv been out with out a bra just for a night out!

I’m the same as u hun getting a bit impatient as usual but dolly is so right. We need to wait til we can wear proper bras. It’s not that long in the long run but I know it feels like it right now!! I’m 17 days po xxx

i saw my surgeon at 4wks and got the all clear to wear normal bras and was told by the nurse at 7 days after having dressings removed i was ok to have a normal bath but i guess everyone is different and depends on how well your incisions are healing, id defo wait till you get the go ahead from your nurse or surgeon hun xx
