When can you choose an actual date?

Hi Everyone,

I’m new to all this so this may sound a bit stupid but… I went for my first consultation at the weekend which was great and I told my PC that I was looking at having the op next April. She advised that as it was quite some time away I wouldn’t need to see a surgeon until about January. It just feels a little bit like I’m waiting around now without any further information until I meet the surgeon.

I’d like to know how soon after meeting the surgeon things get moving? And when you choose an actual date?

Any advice?

They don’t like you to see the surgeon too far in advance as you may change in body weight etc before the op. I think they look at about 3-4 months being the longest. I saw mine recently and I am having the op in Jan.

Ahh ok thanks I bet you can’t wait!! What size are you getting? I wish I was having mine sooner but due to money and work I’ll have to wait untill April…
