When can you soak in bath?

Im 2 weeks post op today and nurse said i could get my incisions wet at 11 days post op but not allowed to soak in bath, when can you have a soak. x

i think you can have ur boobs fully under water at 6 weeks, but depends what ur nurse/ surgeon has told you. xx

I had a full soak at 13 days post op. x

I was allowed after my check with the nurse at 11 days as my scars had fully closed. Xx

I think you just need to wait a few weeks babe until the scars are fully closed.

There’s more bacteria in a bath than a shower, and the bugs can get in the wound if its still open.

Have you still got a steri-strip thing over your scars? My nurse put a new strip over my scars last week and told me it should fall off after a week. It hasnt!

She said i should just take it off myself if it didnt fall off on its own, but i’m scared of pulling the wound! Eek!

@missmed, its really not as bad as you think its gonna be, i was sooo scared about pulling mine off but it was sooo easy, just do it slowly and take your time, make sure they are fully soaked as thats what the nurse told me to do and they came off easy! xx

i think its due to the heat of the bath aswell, cause the hot water can effect the scaring xx
