hi girls, i had my op yesterday and im in muscular pain (il give it 7/10 when lying down) and (9/10 when moving). I have no burning sensations or anything but i feel that some of the pain is coming from the plasters which seem really tight. The plasters arent wrapped around covering my nipples but is wrapped underneath and on top of the cleavage exposing my nipple area. Why isit bandaged like this as opposed to the wrap of bandages most girls have? and when can i take them off? can i do it alone ? the nurse said in 3-4days but ive seen some girls take theirs off the day after..is something wrong?

sorry but im a bit paranoid and would like to know! Happy new year

I would stick it out as long as you can honey,I think they are there to keep your new breasts in position for the first few days, but im just guessing, thats pobably why you are bound so tight, but give the nurse a ring tell her how you feel and ask her what is the purpose of the tape,I often wonder why some use tape and others dont,I know all surgeons have different styles, but it would be nice to know why tape is used.xxx

The dressings will probably seem tight because you’ll have swollen up a bit while you’re healing. Mine have loosened up a bit now the swelling’s going down (I’m 3 days post-op). Don’t take them off, hun. The nurse told me they will take them off at your post-op appt. You need to keep the dressings sealed so the incisions are kept clean and any risk of infection is kept out. Different surgeons will dress them differently and obviously uplifts will have more dressings around the nipples than straight ba’s. xx
