Which Vitamin Supplements To Take?

I just wondered if anybody knew of the best vitamin supplements to take pre-op and throughout healing to help your body heal as fast and as best as it can?

Hi honey,I was told to stop all vitamins supplements 2 weeks before op,I only took what the surgeon recommended.But others may have been told different,xx

Ooo, gosh. I just assumed vitamins would help? Glad you’ve said that. Were you allowed to take them post op? Did they say why you couldn’t have them pre op? X

You gotta stop them 2 weeks after too, certain vitamins thin the blood xx

try arnica tablets there herbal really help with the swelling i took them 3 days before and it helped keep the swelling down and tissue less tender x

Arnica also thins the blood hun, some surgeons are dead against it, but it varies per surgeob, personally I wouldnt risk it xx

Do u think a bit of vitamin c would hurt as I’ve had a but of a cold and bn taking it and I’ve got my op in 4 days xx

I asked the nurse about vit c, as I take varies vitamins daily and she said all vitamins are a no ni xx

oh no woops lol i thought it would be ok coz there is vitamin c in lots of food. oh well il have to eat some fruit thanks nikki xx

When I spoke to the nurse at the pre op I wasn’t taking anything but the sheet of paper they give you tells you to stop taking any self prescribed herbal remedies.

About 2 weeks pre op I felt a cold coming on, because I was unclear as to what herbal remedies were I spoke to my PC to confirm I was ok to start taking Multivitamins, she said it was fine and I was taking them even up to the day before my op.

I’m only 4 days PO and didn’t have any problems during the operation, I also told the anaesthetist before the op that I wasn’t taking any medication but I was taking multivitamins….he didn’t seem one bit bothered.

But please speak to the nurse at your pre op as i’m not too sure the PC’s word is concrete.

I asked my surgeon and he said i was fine to take all the vitamins and my pill still. But i choose not take anything, except for arnica which my ps said was fine. I stop everything 2 weeks before. xxx

I took the Arnica,Mario recommended it,but stopped everything else.xxx
