So I always thought you should be using bio oil and moisturize your boobs loads before surgery to prep for stretch marks and help the skin. However my surgeon and PC and the nurse has said I have to stop 6 weeks before, I want to know why? It just doesn’t make sense, obviously I didn’t question them. They are professionals, but does anyone know?

No idea why you’ve been advised that! I was using bio oil every day for a month before xxx

I was never told to stop apart from the time between your last shower and surgery as they don’t want traces on your skin during surgery!
I used palmers stretch mark lotion twice a day for about a month before and have been using it every night since about 2 dpo my surgeon said that’s fine as long as you avoid the incisions which were covered anyone, i think it helped with the skin stretching etc

I was told not to use things like bio oil before hand too, can’t remmeber the reason why though. So I didn’t bother but I did start putting bio oil on my boobs avoiding the scars about three days after surgery and I have no stretch marks xx

Had my 3 week check up today and she said I can start to mosterize my scars and be quite firm massaging them to help break down the stitches in side .must say it’s a weird feeling x
