Why do I have to come off the pill?

My PC just told me I have to come off the contraceptive pill a month before my op. Why?

Its because of blood clots hun. Girls on the contraceptive pill are at higher risk of blood clots xx

Ahh okay then. Do you know when I’d be able to go back on it? xx

No i don’t think the implant carries the same risk of clots, but check with your nurse or surgheon, they’ll ask you anyway x

@amyk84 nah babe its not the same with implants, my pc mentioned about the pill but when I told her I had the implant she said thats all fine nothing to worry about. x
