i suppose its just more convenient for people who want to travel … im travelling about an hour and a half for mine but wont be staying in a hotel, would rather get the journey out the way and get home !! x

i think usually it is for the other half to stop them having to come and go. instead of all the driving. also, alot of women have very early admission times so saves them having to wake at 4-5am to get to the hospital on time. i personally am glad i was an over night case.x

I’m only bout 2 hrs away but as I’m a day case I’m likely to have an early admission time, and I’m not good in the mornings lol and I would rather be close to the hospital incase anything was to happen in the night, fingers crossed that doesn’t happen tho!! Xx

I was an overnight stay, but I think you have to stay within a certain radius of the hospital in case of any complications overnight. x

they said to me you must be within 45 minutes driving distance of the hospital. Although im sure 1 hr away and they would let you off. Its probably a legal requirement xx

you must stay within 30 min of the hospital just in case you develop a haematoma, if you go home (if further than 30 min) and something happens you wont be covered xx

I stayed in case there was any complications in the 24 hrs after the op. That way i was only a 5 min journey away instead of 1.5hrs! xx
