Mind sound like a ridiculous question… But some girls photos I have seen(straight after surgery)they are completely bandaged up with just a couple of nipples poking out and others just have tiny stickers underneath their boobs.

Does this depend on the surgeon or does it depend on the individual?

Thanks – oh and if it depends on the surgeon what does Mr Traynor do?

Thanks again ladies, dunno what Id do without you all, haha xx

It depends on the surgeon, i had Mr Traynor and he doesnt use the tape as he doesn’t think its necessary whilst others like Helena use it, its just down to the surgeon.

Glad Mr T doesn’t use it, it doesn’t look comfortable.

you can see my pictures, but there just white dressings to cover the scars. They did itch me though my skin didnt agree with them, but there only on for a week and they are bearable. xx

Because i had Mr Traynor who doesn’t use them i believe them to be completely unneccessary, it doesnt do anything that your sports bra can’t. So pretty happy i didnt have them, as i love my boobies haha didn’t do me no harm.

i decided on Mr Traynor because of great things heard about him, when i met him i just knew he was the surgeon i wanted. Didnt really give the others a chance though but i’m glad i had him and would do again and againnnn! :D xx

I think it’s purely the surgeon’s preference – just like some advise their patients to wear a sports bra non-stop for 6 weeks and some advise their patients to go bra-less for 6 weeks.

I’m getting my strapping taken off tomorrow at 1 week post op, but I was naughty and peeled off the top strip today! I got into the bath before work and it was all minging under my arms and starting to peel and I had bits of sticky stuff on my chest I just had to get rid of it! I’ve kept the bottom strap on though. Feel so much beter and cleaner now lol and I can see my new boobs almost completely now!

I’ve still got the bottom strap on and I’ve quite liked having it there as it seems like an extra bit of protection for the incisions.

I was bandage free and I must say it was great. Could get in and clean off all the pen marks and get an idea of what they look like early on.

The bandages can’t do any harm though, I mean it can only be a benefit and support you.

If you specifically didn’t want bandages, why not ask? They can only say no :)

i’m the same as Claire, I cut away 50% of the top strip after 2 days so i could wear vests and i get it all taken off apart from the little strips on my stitches on thursday xx
