Why do we have to sleep sitting up? Started by: Laura (@laurawight)

    Hi,

What is the reason for sleeping sitting up straight? And does it have to be completely upright?
I’ve been sleeping sitting up but not completely upright as I slide down my pillow? So I’m just kind of propped up a little bit? Is this okay? Will it affect anything
    Thanks!xx

It’s just to help dwelling go down I think. Do you have a V pillow? If not just put some pillows around you to try and stop you sliding down for a few night xx

Totally upright for first few days then I statrted gradually reclining back. Putting pillows or bean bags under your knees stops the sliding. Think the reason for it is so the implant settles in the correct place.

@peachysunshinee ah right, I don’t think I’m actually that swollen tbh, can’t tell! Yeah I have one and I’ve put more pillows behind it to keep it upright but i just slide down it half way through the night and wake up not quite flat, kind of a slant. Hopefully it won’t be a problem though! Thanks!xx

@jaymeelee yeah me too it’s a bit of a nuisance! I’ve not been bad at all actually! Can’t lean on my arms and a bit achey but not too bad! The sides hurt a bit but I’ve been keeping on top of meds and ive been up and about etc. everyone is back at work today so I’m on my own!
Did he? Same here! They seem as if they’re at the side a bit so hoping they’ll become more rounded and closer together!!
How have you been up to now?xx

I found that having something under my knees took the pressure off my lower back. I didn’t invest in a v pillow didn’t see point. Excuse the creased bedding but that’s how I had my everyday cushions and it worked for me x

@jaymeelee so glad you just said that as mine seem pointy kind of to the side? Maybe it’s normal and they’ll get less pointy once they settle! I hope so anyway!
They’ve not been too bad, I felt sick yesterday taking them but not sure if it’s them or the cocodamol? I’m defintely bloated though so think I might take some senakot later on
    Glad you’re okay!xx
