I have only ever been able to sleep lying on my front or side I’ve tried the last couple of nights to sleep on my back as my op is next tuesday but have found it impossible I just can’t drift off, how I’m going to sleep sitting up I don’t know
xx
i always slept on my side or front before my op and just for a week to sleep propped up for me wasnt too bad, just anoying if you had slid down during the nite was hard to get back up lol! but after my week check up i was told i coulds sleep flatter and then at around 2 weeks i was trying to lay on my side and since then ive been laying on my side, even on my front isnt too bad just feels a bit weird at first! x
You will be fine. I was also dreading this but I was amazed at how well I managed sleeping on my back. You’re propped up anyways so It’s not as bad as sleeping flat on your back. I slept really well and was back on my side anyways after 2 weeks x
Yeah its really not as bad as you think. Like tracey2010 said you are well propped up so reasonably comfy, its just your lower back that begins to ache after a while but a hot water bottle helps with that. You’ll also find that it is more comfy on your back than in any other position anyway so you don’t mind sleeping like that. I was back to my side on day 8 and my front by about day 14, although my front only really felt normal after about 4 weeks xx
Thanks a lot girls I’m dreading it as I get really bad back aches any way and I’m only 19 but its all for a good cause so just gonna have to deal with it xx
Hi. Ended up sleeping in the armchair with my feet on the big pouffee. My v pillow. I was more comftable there and didnt have to worry about slidding down or my partner banging my boobs during the night. Also as I wasnt sleeping too well I watched Tv alot at night as I was bored.lol Hope all goes well chick.xx
Im still sleeping on my back after 2 weeks, very jealous of you girlies who can sleep on their sides! I was really sleepy anyway the week after surgery, prob from all the recovery, invest in a v cushion beka it will be your new best friend!
I always slept on my side and front before op and was dreading it but I have slept really well considering and just starting to sleep on my side more and im 15 days post op today xx
