I have a physical job, lifting heavy bags, and i dont want to tell my employer im haaving a BA, i have started padding my bra out now, hoping when i have the op and go back to work it wont be as noticeable. i thought about seeing if surgeon would be happy to right post operative surgery on my sick note, then i could say anything about why im off. i thought about saying i have a hemmoroid problem and need an operation, that usually takes 2 weeks to recover from. Does anyone have any suggestions, work is really strict, i have no holidays and they wouldnt give me time off if i told them the real reason.

if i was you would go and speak to your doctor. As far as i am aware they will not give you a sick note for BA. I do know someone that got a sick note but that was because she got an infection post op. I dont want to sound horrible teling you but i wouldnt want youy to get into trouble with your employer. Do they not have another job that you could do, paper work ect?

i’d defo speak with your GP. I wouldnt want to have done any heavy lifting 2 weeks post op to be honest. I’d get a professional opinion either GP or surgeon.

Hi hunny, u can’t get a sick note for cosmetic surgery unless there was a problem (i.e infection). i used holiday days. i booked 1 week off but went back on the 6th day cos i felt fine, Im not heavy lifting though, if i was i would have def needed 2 weeks off x x

OMG! You can’t do strenuous things for 8 weeks! I’m only having 4 weeks off and even then they said i would only need 2 weeks, but i thought i would have 4 just to be safe. I’m a dog groomer so its lifting and as well as that there are the awkward ones you get sometimes that take alot of strength. Oh no hope i’m going to be ok for it, can’t have anymore time off than that, i’ll be bankrupt lol!! x

mya said i could get a sick note saying something on the lines of surgical procedure, they said that they wont stat exactly what you had done on it. you need to ask for one tho, i ask at one of my pre op consultations about a sick note. ive decided now tho to take annual leave for a week. but i only work part time as a specialist nurse not physical work x

hi smiler2. i’ve got same problem as you. i’m having ba in a week time. i was sure that i can get a sick note for ba cause it’s dangerous to lift heavy things. But I might ask mya for one too just in case.:)
