Work advice please girls ?

Hi girls just looking for advice about work, i have 2 weeks holiday in after my op and dont know whether to tell work i am having the op or just hope i am all healed when i return? I am a domestic in a care home so work in the laundry and cleaning around the home…. Do you think i will be ok to return? Did anyone get a sick note following their surgery? Thanks in advance xx

At two weeks post op I would have been fine to do those kinds of things as long as I took it easy, and I had a really horrible recovery. I got a sick note from my surgeon but after the first week my workplace phoned to tell me it wasn’t an official sick note and that I needed to get another one from my GP xx
