I’ve just had my date confirmed and I’m meant to be presenting 2 lectures the day after! Is this realistic? How did you guys feel the day after your op?
i felt really achey after mine, the day after is usually the worst hunni
could u not get someone to stand in for u? xx
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately not- I have to do it! Initially it was supposed to be the day before that but I got a message yesterday saying that it was a day later than I expected… I’m not too worried about pain, just as long as I can concentrate and present effectively! What do you think?
Your crazy! Would advise you not to leave the house really, or you bed!
Simply wouldn’t do it.
Your recovering from the G.A and aren’t supposed to drive upto 24 hours after. So watch your times.
You’ll be hunched over, won’t be able to stand for long periods of time. You’ll be high on painkillers. Ok im over doing it a bit but it’s your health. Without your health you won’t be able to work.
Please reconsider. Your body needs to recover from the trauma.
xx
i have to agree with claireybabes hun, ur body needs that time to recover esp in the 1st couple of days, u will be sore the day after and as claire se, high on pain relief, o they know ur going in for surgery? xx
UR insurance dont cover u for a week with driving.
I think ur being a bit keen hun. I couldnt think straight for a good week after. My head was sll over x
To be honest, I’d say do what you feel you can do. I had a c-section in january (slight difference i know) but was walking 6 hours later home the next day and driving 4 days after that (with a pillow between my stomach and belt) everyone handles pain differently. As for the insurance double check hun, as long as I could do an emergancy stop i was told i could drive, but some differ. x x x
Eeek, i’d say post-pone your op date hun, honestly i recovered very fast but day 2 you still have meds in your bod, you’re so tired and generaly a bit zoned out! x
Hiya twinkles I had section too and was the same as you up and about, im expecting the pain to be similar as its sort of the same , cuts, pulling skin, bruising so sort of instead of pulling something out there putting something in! Although im not planning on driving as its strain on your upper body
x x
I was up working the day after [at home on cad]- easier the day after then 3 days after when they get really taught!
depends on size- i only had 255 and feel fine just a little achey. Also I had no complications- as long as you don’t move your arms abotu you may be fine- but to be honest can’t say for sure if you can get out of it try x
I struggled with breathing the most, I have only had 340s so not massive implants. I’m 5 days post op and still haven’t got used to the weight on my chest and bottom breath is hard to grasp now and then. I wouldn’t push yourself and jeapodise your healing. It’s not worth it when u think of what damage you could do to yourself x
hi think u will do it if u need to do it if that makes sense i.e my 1st boob job i was in bed recovering i didnt have any commitments after my 2nd one i had two children under five to look after straight away with no help as i am a single mum so it will prob b best to rest in bed but needs must aslong as u nit in to much pain x
I was great the day after, it was days 3 and 4 that I couldn’t move. X
becca13….how did you go on looking after 2 kids? Im only asking because i had twins in january and im booked in for my op in june. Told my husband its better to do it now whilst there are still little enough for me to pick up haha. he fell for it which is a bonus lol x x
DONT do it! I’m two days post op. I cant really remember much about yesterday as I think I was still reeling from the effects of the anaesthetic!
It’s not the pain, more the effects of the drugs and anaesthetic. Everyone handles things differently but MYA wouldn’t advise what they do if it wasn’t important. It’s your body, you’ll do what you have to but I’d strongly advise to try and change either your lectures or your admission. Good luck X
my two was two and a half and four and a half i just managed to b honest when u got no other option u have to my boys kept on wanting to cuddle me and i had to say no mammys got bad boobies and my neighbour took my eldest to skool but before op i was really concerned on how id cope but i needent have worried it was fine x
I’ve just seen all these replies- thank you! Ok, I think I will ask and see if I can move the op date either to earlier or later. I’m not worried about the pain, but if there are possible after-effects of the anesthetic I would be hard pressed to assure my employer that I could sensibly contribute to educational ends! Thanks all xx
You need to rest hun, honestly i would advise that you dont work that day,you are still recovering from the anasthetic too,its not worth putting yourself at risk, what if you collapse during the lecture, some people do recover quicker than others, but i think 24 hrs is too soon to be working hun, good luck, xxxxxxxxx
Hi I had my op 25days ago. I had no pain, I just ached but there was no way I wanted to drive. is it worth the risk? I dnt think ur surgeon tells u not to drive cos of insurance purposes but mainly for health reasons. U could pass out or sumat. And just cos u can do an emergency stop doesn’t mean u should n to be honest if u had to do one ud def b straight to hospital as the stitches would prob open.
After payin all that money surely it’s best that u take time out to recover properly. Good luck xx
