Worried about aftercare Started by: laracroftminx

I am most worried about MYA and the aftercare as so far I have not been very impressed.

I had bloods taken 2 weeks ago and had a seizure straight after! The nurse didn’t fill me with confidence at all and the bruising has only just gone. AND now I have just had a letter to say that the bloods they took were insufficient and I have to have to have it all done again!!! Not sure I can go through that again!!

I had a great co-ordinator to begin with – Louise but she left and after a month of no contact from anyone I had to chase things up. My “new” co-ordinator (since April) I have never met.

I just feel that once I have had the surgery I will be on my own. I also can’t believe that I am spending £5,700 on surgery and then have to buy my own surgical bras – surely this could be covered in the costings!!

hun, i’m 12 days post op and went throuugh Manchester, had the same procedure you’re having and it’s been fine. My pc is rubbish at getting back to me if i’m honest but the surgeon and post op care nurse has been fab and cannot fault them. The bras are a personal thing so it wouldn’t be right i suppose for them to provide you with them as all of us choose to wear different things xx

Yes I suppose you are right. Thanks for adding me. Your pics are great and I feel so much better already. Was really starting to think about backing out but after seeing your photos I am going to go for it. Scarring isn’t bad at all. really impressed xx

thanks hun, I’ve still got the steri strips on in all of my pics, but the scars shouldnt be bad, they will take a long time to heal but with lots of bio oil and doing what the surgeon says, i’m sure they will look great.

the forum is great for support before and afterwards, i have to say i’ve come to the forum for advice before ringing MYA xxx

I didn’t have blood taken pre op, just blood pressure. I wonder why – maybe they thought I looked so fit and healthy it’d be a waste of time! Haha xx

Girls, I think they only take bloods if something comes up in your pre-op with the nurse. I had some other health issues that had to be investigated, so thats why they took mine. I dont think its standard procedure x

Don’t worry about MYA and the after care, from researching cosmetic surgery groups over the years, personally I believe MYA are the best, the surgeons are fantastic and the posts on the after care post-op are very good,my surgeon would not work for them if he did’nt believe in them, and he does 100%.If your not confident with the nurse taking your bloods again voice your concerns and let them know that you are worried chances are your bloods will be taken this time and there will be no issues. You will not be alone when you have had your surgery you have us,and believe me if you have any concerns and cant get in touch with the nurse or your PC, the moderator will pic up on it and sort things out for you asap.dont worry hun you are in safe hands.

I don’t thik that’s right about them only taking blood if something comes up in the pre op, i’m really healthy, do lots of exercise and had no conditions that needed looking into prior to the op but they took my bloods.

Perhaps they took mine because i was having a more complex op with the uplift..? xx

Thanks everyone. Yes I am fit and healthy too and exercise at least 2 hours a day. I presume then it must be because of the uplift!!
