worried….help

I went to my family planning the other day to talk about having my implant out, cause its just making me feel horrible all time and horrible periods too some last over a month, and also my surgeon said it did increase risk of dvt when having surgery but He wasn’t concerned as I was young and active, so I didn’t have to remove it. But after long consideration and constant headaches, I want it out…. So discussed my problems with the nurse and everything I mentioned, she put it down to something else, like I said ive gained weight since having it, her response oh no its cos your ageing, so 9 month makes that much difference n I gain a stone coz I’ve aged 9 month she said headaches was down to having young children LOL. And all rest of stuff well she’s gave me the pill called cerezette or somthing to take everyday now…. So all these hormones are concerning me for surgery… I’m scared after reading what happend to kimmy when she had her surgery. I just want this bloody thing out xx

They did the same thing to me, hun. I had nothing but trouble wit the implant, constant bleeding and headaches. They put me on a pill to kick start the implant into working properly. Still wasn’t happy and demanded to have it out. Horrible thing, I wouldn’t recommend it to anybody! Go back and tell them you want it out. Xx

I just rang clinic again n she said she’s putting me in for another assesment with another nurse and if that goes to plan they will book me a date to remove it. Goes to plan EH? Shouldn’t this be my choice if I want to have it removed. I feel terrible all time even feel pregnant which sounds daft but it makes me feel nauseous and dizzy with hot flushes. Fed up of it. And just scaring me about having surgery with this in and that pill now. She said it Dusnt cause no increased risk at all but I looked it up and it said on there its not clear if it increases risk of dvt during surgery and to see a doctor 1st xx

Ive had mine 2years n love it no hassle no forgetting n the pill really did calm the constant bleedin I no have 2- 3 periods a year no headaches weight gain what ever u do dont have the injection I had it for six months n felt awful gained 2stone xx

I’ve had injection too dannie horrible thing but implants making me exactly same as injection, it just seems hormones don’t agree with me, best option for me prob would be copper coil cause it doesn’t have hormones lol xx

i have heard nothing but bad stuff about this implant in the arm my best mate had problems from day 1 and you do gain a hell of alot of weight and she just bled for months so after getting it out she has lost her weight easy and the headaches etc went but she is still bleeding all the time she is currently bleeding and has been for 6weeks she gets the odd day off but very rare. she has had scans on her womb/tubes tests done and there is no actual problem just side effect from the implant i’de get it out hun as 1 other lass had hers in for 2 yesars and when it came to getting it out her implant had gotten behind veins and muscle and had to go to hospital for an operation xxxx hope your ok xxx

Oh no, luckily I was only 7 stone 9 at the time so I’ve gone to 8 stone 9 but I’m just naturaly small. These headaches are just horrible, its making me so mad how they are deciding for me, and if I wanted to take a tablet everyday too id have just gone on pill, so why she’s given me this cerezette is beyond me dunt need hassle of it. Thanks girls xxx

Eeewwwww thats awful made me go all tingly same as everything everyones body acts different yeah I want the coil but scared my cervix will grow round it lol stupid I know lol but was chattin to this woman n she said was painful when removed n u cud feel everythin im just v.sqeamish with stuff like that…boak!! I dnt remember the pill for the life of me n the patches fall off!!xx

I’ve had merena coil, I had it taken out as I wanted another baby (my lil boy is now 10 and half month) and it didn’t hurt when been put in and it didn’t hurt at all been taken out, I was more scared having implant in lol xx

Lol teally?? Oooohh myt be worth a try then I get on with the implant but hate the thought of pumping hormones into my body I dont need I always feel fresh n revitaliased without all that lol sounds daft but always feel healthier without contraception so a hormone free mwthod wud b perfect but yeah if u want it out they shud remove it xx

How good is the coil, girls? I’m tempted to give the hormones a break too. X

I have mirena coil too, had it taken out to have my son, who nearly nine& had it put bk in after I don’t have periods, haven’t gained weight & don’t have any other probs , I defo recommend it X

Even though merena is a hormone coil it is good I didn’t have headaches I didn’t have periods, I had dizziness tht bout it. And copper coil has no hormones at all but in some people makes periods heavier n longer. Merena is defo best thing I’ve ever had xx

Hmmm im temptd by the copper one may have to do some research with that one xx

My mum has it and everything is great she just gets a heavy period, but she’s prone to heavy periods anyway xx

I’ve got the implant in and have no problems whatsoever, had it for just over a year now and only had about 4 periods, guess its different effect for evreyone, I was on the pill before this and I gained weight and it made me have the most terrible mood swings, I acted so out of charactor I can’t believe how it made me act.. I hate the fact that anything that stops us getting pregnant has different effects, we have to test em all out before we decide, its a nightmare!

True angel, best thing I tried is coil and pill, but pill just isn’t good enough coz I am terrible at remebering it lol. Men should beable to have pill and injection or implant lol. Always us women. It’s pants xx
