Hey girlies, not been on here in a while. Just wondering if anyone else had the same problem and if you think I have CC. I’m 8 months post op now, right from the start my right breast has been higher and firmer, this is still the case now. I was reassured during my 6 week check that it would drop and even out, but if anything I think it has gotten worse. It also aches, like a dull ache for most of the day. My left breast has a lovely natural slope and my right looks a bit stuck on and you can feel a ridge on the inside. I’m really worried, as I cant have any time off work to go through it all again and it concerns me that they only do the one breast if it is cc, as I’m worried they will still look different, as my left will be so far ahead. Any thoughts… ideas? I’m going to get intouch with my pc and see if I can see my surgeon, but in the mean time would appreciate your help :)

They may still be going through changes – remember it takes up to a year for them to recover and settle properly. Just to be on the safe side though, schedule an appointment with your surgeon and let them put your mind at rest xx

    Hi staceyanne

Its capsule contracture. At the time of the initial surgery, a pocket is made for the implant. During the healing process, a capsule forms which your body then starts to shrink. Under normal conditions, the pocket remains open, thus allowing the implant to look and feel natural. However, in some people, the capsule will tighten, and squeeze the implant. This makes the breast implant feel hard, and distorts the appearance of the breast. In the later stages, the implant feels very firm, and may take on a “ball-like” look. It is important to remember that it is not the implant that has hardened. The shrinking of the capsule compresses the implant, causing it to feel firm/hard. Xx
