Hi, I hope to meet with Mr Traynor in Manchester this week. I will of course ask these questions to him. However your personal experience’s are the most informative.
I’m a nurse and work on a physically demanding ward. How much time would I expect to need off work??
Should I have overs or unders??
My reason for surgery is; after breast feeding two children my bust has lost its shape completely, I have also lost 3.5 stone and I now look deflated.
I look forward to your feedback xx
Hi bex,if you are looking at returning to work after a couple of weeks,I would say overs, from the girls feed back here they seem to be less painful than unders,it might be an idea to have a word with your superior at work too so that you are not lifting too much in the first 6 weeks, xxx I took 2 weeks,my job didnt involve lifting and wasnt physically demanding,so I was ok,hope this helps, xxx
Thanx Tina, I spoke with Holly at MYA this morning I’ve got in a cancellation slot today to have my consult. When I look at pictures I’m drawn to wanting the rounder shape rather than the pear shape (i think that’s how to describe them.)
Here’s where you’ll see im a boobie virgin lol. Would i be right in thinking you don’t always need a bra with the round shape? What is the difference between over and unders? (I get that they’re under or over the muscle) but what difference does that make to the look and shape? I have to admit until i came to the site I didnt realise that was even an option. Thanx again xx
hI mr traynor is a fab surgeon. He will tell u if ur having unders or overs generally aint ur choice!
I have a very physically demanding job, i had 380 unders and only had 18days off and went back to full duties!
If u do a lot of lifting pulling, however, i would ymtake min of 3wks off xx
THe bra thing – if u have ubders mr traynor wont want u wearing a bra for six weeks. If overs u wear a bra for six weeks.
Unders look more natural for girls with no breast tissue and overs for people with breast tissue.
The natural slop look is from teardrop implants, however mya use round implants as a general, but u can have the slope imolants if u want.
I think whats best to so is speak fully to mr t about the look u want, look at ad many pics on ere of overs and unders etc
Also if u wanna look a d cup for example, make sure u tell him u want to look a d, cos if u say u want a d cup ul measure a d but look a lot smaller x
Hiya..
I saw Mr T last month and he was great.. Very straight to the point, no messing told me exactly what i needed.. Which is a nipple lift and 410 460 or 525cc implants which is my choice..
I too have lost 4 stone and have empty C cup boobs.. I am having overs.. I also work in the NHS (Midwife) and i am having 4 weeks off work due to being hugely physically demanding.. Hence my surgery is in March next year.
I did ask what cup size i would be and Mr T said E, EE F.. so i am pleased with that..
Good luck in your journey.. I have a while to wait, but so looking forward to new boobies next year.. x
hi bex, im a radiographer so very similar job as far as demands on the muscles go, i had unders and had 2 weeks off, i’ve gone back to work today and am totally pain free but struggle with lack of strength, im pretty much avoiding all patient transfers as stretching across a bed and pushing or pulling is out the question, first off it can cause a slight twinge of pain and secondly i just dont have the strength. if you think your line manager would be able to be flexible with what duties you are given then 2 weeks is enough as i feel absolutely fine as in my health and pain levels but am not able to carry out the same duties i did before the op just yet. not sure how long it will take for everything to return to normal as only 2 weeks 3 days post op myself.
despite all this i dont think you should let your return to work determine which you go for, you should go for the option best for you as advised by your surgeon to get the look you are after. i know this is easier said than done when annual leave comes into play but it is such a big decision in your life that you want to be making the right decision for the right reasons.
hope this was helpful, any questions feels free to message me xxx
