  • In reply to: When can we stop sleeping so upright??

    Menu

Not for much longer hun. Ask your nurse when you see her for your first weeks appointment as it can vary from person to person. But mostly after first week … I think… I really don’t wanna lie, though xx

    In reply to: Sleeping struggle!

Slept upright for the first 7-8 days, and then slightly elevated until about 16 days post-op which still was uncomfortable for me lol so I just laid down cos I’m sure I’m allowed to now referring to everyone else experiences. And I do turn slightly on my side, when I feel like… This might be something that is not allowed yet, I’m not sure, but it does feel comfortable and I am 19 days post op today. Xx

Stopping probably is the best, but I tried to for 2 weeks before op and couldn’t, so I just reduced to 1 a day (a tiny bit every now and then). I didn’t smoke on the day of op, and when the nurse asked me I did feel embarrassed that I had smoked but she said that’s ok as long as it’s not on the day of the op. I haven’t smoked ever since though, and so far so good, no infections or associated problems (touch wood lol). It really is more important not to smoke while you’re healing…

    Good luck x

I’m afraid I have to agree with the others, it does happen to everyone due to anaesthesia and pain killers as these slow down the digestive system. But drinking a lot of water and trying to walk around (as much as you can) should help to improve things and resolve everything to go back to normal. So I read. I know though, they say to stay in bed and rest as much as possible… and to be honest for the first few days thats all you want to do too.
    Hope this helps x

Hi, I just recently uploaded the pics, have you seen them? I was 270cc teardrop unders. It’s slightly above 250cc but don’t think it’s too much of a difference. Hope it helps. x

    Menu

I’m exactly like you hun, love sleeping on my front and sides. I had my op 2 weeks ago, and by now I’m really tired of sleeping upright and only one position. I have been naughty and have tried turning slightly onto a side but it’s not comfortable at all.. Really struggling with this and hope soon I’ll be able to have a decent nights sleep. But for me, everything’s worth it. So don’t let it put you off.

    Good luck on 12th xx

In reply to: anyone have/had to wear a band?!

    Menu

Yes, me too. I woke up with it after surgery and it was so tight I told my surgeon when he came to see me after op and he released it slightly. It’s to do with holding the implant in place and to help with swelling. The nurse was happy to take it off on my 1 week post-op appointment, but she said if I was still swollen I would have to keep it on for another week. I wouldn’t worry about it.. the hospital/ clinic should provide these, I think x

In reply to: Private: BA with Dr frati

    Menu

Yes he does hun, both, although he put a breast band instead of full-on strapping on me. Nurse said it was there just to help with the swelling, and I waa free again after 1 week 🙂 xx

Ok, I don’t know how to delete this now. I was just contacted by a nurse and she said that antibiotics should be finished and they won’t act on my tummy. Just to let you all know if anyone gets the same problem ever x

Thank you all in advance xx

    In reply to: Strapping:(

    Menu

I don’t have a strapping but a breast band. It feels just as bad though. .. super-tight, slips down under my backbone and diggs into my armpits. can’t wait for it to come off! I have my app with nurse next Monday. .. im currently day 4 post-op and counting days till next week is what keeps me going! Hang in there 🙂 you are not alone and everything will get better.

I’m sure that won’t be a problem. I had my BA and “those days” . If you still feel unsure you can just ask the nurse, she’ll assure you.

In reply to: people say I should wait til after I've had kids!?!???

    Menu

The thing about pregnancy is that your breasts fill up with milk after giving birth. To be honest, there’s nothing better than your own milk to baby and their immunity. I’ve had one though and I know I don’t last longer than 2 months with the whole breastfeeding. But before surgery I asked surgeon what if i get pregnant again and he said to avoid breastfeeding because in fact they can change afterwards. I’m not sure how I feel about it. … to be honest.

In reply to: Private: Mr frati – drains

    Menu

I agree with the girls. He is not the most talkative guy, but he is a brilliant surgeon. I strongly suggest reading about him, his education & experience is all written on Bridgewater Hospital webpage. I was feeling unsure about him first after consultation, as he didn’t seem to talk too much, and after very friendly, chatty consultations with my PC it seemed odd. But honestly, researching more about him made me so much more confident and I knew I could trust him from then on….
Regarding the drains, if that’s what he prefers then that’s what it should be. I mean, he’s a smart guy and wants the patient to achieve best results with minimum tissue trauma and recovery time. Drains are good hun xx

In reply to: Anyone keeping their BA a secret from even close family??

    Menu

I am not telling to anyone. The only people know are my sister and my hubby, and hubby’s cousin since they were coming to visit. I know we are all mature enough to not tell anyone, but somehow we feel the need to do it when it comes to the parents. But the fact is – Sometimes it’s less information that makes easier life, in my opinion. I can’t tell my mum because I know how easily stressed she gets. She’s heaving health problems at the moment so there’s no way I can put that on her… As for my dad, I don’t think he’s interested about my boobs at all. I’m sure he’ll have an opinion, something in lines “why did you need it?” and “we love you ask you are”. Thankfully, its easier for me to keep a secret from my parents and relatives, we all live different countries all over the world and not here with me. But surely, if people will notice and ask if I’ve done, I’m not going to lie. Only if they dare to ask haha

I had the op yesterday, 270cc unders (teardrop implants). They were suggested by the surgeon, for the most natural look considering that I am very small frame and had very little breast tissue. I’d say go to consultation, surgeons really know what they are talking about, I mean they didn’t become one yesterday, so they’ll speak honestly and from experience. I read that first time teardrop implant shouldn’t really rotate, but repeat has increased chance. Tell him what you want to achieve and your concerns.. I’m sure you’ll be able to find what fits you best after consultation x

@tracyface , thank you so much love. I feel well informed once again 🙂 Yeah, I had my nails removed yesterday. Is the cubicle spacious, as in can I have my husband there as well, or is it teeny tiny? Sure, will let you all know how it all went. How long was your day in total, if you don’t mind me asking, from admission time to being allowed to go home? x

I know exactly how you feel. I have my op booked on 19th April and am constantly thinking of this.. luckily my hubby will be able to take off work for 1 week, but after that I’m on my own. I think I’m just going to try to find alternatives to restrain from lifting my 1 and half years old for as much as possible but I think there will deffo be times when I’ll have to suck it in and lift with the pain…. ouch, just the thought of it.. x

    Hi Stacey,

I’m quite flat AA / A, tiny frame. Very little breast tissue and at the appointment with the surgeon he advised to use teardrop 235 to 270 cc unders that will make the natural look, that would give 34 C/D. I agree with both ladies through, seeing surgeon and trying on sizes will definitely help you make a decision xx
