Hey, I’m at uni but had my surgery in the Christmas break. I also work part time in a supermarket and I went back after 2 weeks but just didn’t lift anything heavy and tried to stay mostly on the till when I could xx

Thank you! The first week is the hardest, the aches and pains in the morning are pretty annoying but as soon as you take some painkillers you’ll be fine. You really can’t do much for yourself in the first week, evening lifting the kettle to make a cup of tea is hard, so make sure you have someone to look after you at least for the first few days. After day 6 I was okay with most normal things and I switched to just paracetamol on day 4 or 5 as the other painkillers just made me drowsy. The worst thing for me was that I was getting horrible nerve pain in my right arm and shoulder that felt like burning whenever I moved my arm back. Week 2 was much easier but I still needed help to do some things. At the end of week 2 I felt completely back to myself but was just careful when doing things still. It was a massive relief to get the breast band off in week 4.

The drains are fine when they take them out it just feels like a tugging it it didn’t hurt me at all. I had mine in for 5 hours before they removed them. My admission time was 7am too, I was meant to be 3rd down but because on my latex allergy they changed me to first down, I went down at 10:05 but I think they were running late. I woke up about 11:30 as I slept a bit longer than usual in recovery, so had my drains out at 4:30 and left at 5. My mum and step dad both came, they were both allowed in the room as there was nobody else in the room with me but if you share a room it might be different. If not there’s a big waiting room downstairs for one of them to wait and take it in turns. Hope this helps

I’ve got a post of 375 mod + unders on here somewhere! I’m a size 4/6 and they don’t look too big on me although I’ve been measured quite big

@beckiea I had a second surgeon consultation to ask all the questions I forgot to ask on my first consultation as he wasn’t very talkative on my first one either. If you write down a list of things to ask him that’ll help as I forgot to ask a lot of questions at first, but I’m sure you can ask on surgery day if you need to x

@emily1990 I know I was used to 5-6 sessions a week so going down to nothing felt horrible. I lost weight at first but I’ve put on a few pounds now unfortunately but I’d rather that than lose muscle and I’m sure I’ll be able to get back to normal now that I can train properly. It’s important to rest for a while whilst recovering, but when you feel a bit better try some body weight exercises at home, just nice and easy as you shouldn’t get your heart rate up too much in the first few weeks, but it makes you feel better to know you’re doing something. I didn’t do anything POW1 because I was so tired from the medication but in POW2 I’d just do 100 squats whilst watching TV then 100 sumo squats and 100 lunges. Just made me feel a little more active!

@danniilk the nurse said I’m fine to start upper body again now I’m six weeks but I’m still a bit scared too! I’m going to do some lower back this week but leave upper body for another 2 weeks. I’m also going to get back to using free weights on my lower body as I can lift the weights up to the rack now, so I’ll just do a glutes session, quads and calves session, back and hamstrings, abs and another leg day this week. Think I’ll wait until 8WPO for upper back, shoulders and arms

@louiangel yes I had unders! The nurse cleared me for swimming at 6 weeks so should be fine. I think they can be vague purposely sometimes as everybody’s different and you just have to know what feels right for your body and not push it

I was aiming for a DD but would be happy at a D, the 32DD sports bra is currently pretty tight on me and leaves indents if I wear it for long so I’m currently in between that and the 32E but I’d rather wear the tighter one xx

Sorry I didn’t see your message I’m POD10 now and I’m still in a lot of pain in my right shoulder so much so I’ve been to the GP and they gave me codeine but I’m not going to take it as it doesn’t agree with me. I’m meant to be working on Saturday but I don’t think I’ll be able to because my shoulder/arm hurts so much and I can’t do with it but I’ve been assured that it shouldn’t last much longer. I’m the same as you and haven’t had much pain with my boobs and it’s all been in my back/ shoulder/ arm, even typing hurts! I’m pretty sure you’ll be fine to use a hot water bottle on your back just maybe get someone to position it for you so you aren’t stretching your arms too much

You can find out your NHS number just by giving a quick call to your GP surgery, I think pretty much everyone has to provide a NHS number, if not they’ll just ask for it when they write to inform your GP but if you find out first it normally speeds up the process

Hi Sam I bet you’re so excited for tomorrow, let me know how it goes. It all went well now the staff were amazing and so kind, I left at 5. Drains were easy just a bit of a weird tugging but no pain. I was napping all day, not in pain just achey and tight, worried I’m over doing it as I’m not in any paint ATM so just trying to take it easy even though I feel alright. Can’t see Emmy boobs at all really as they’re all strapped up under my Macom so can’t wait for next week when I can finally get a good look! Good luck for tomorrow, you’all be fine! Xxx

Hey I’ve read that with textured implants you don’t need to massage them but with smooth you do, I think MYA use textured implants so maybe that’s why.

@laurenamb yeah I completely understand that, I’ve seen my surgeon twice and discussed going bigger but he said that 375 will get me what I want and to go any bigger would chance rippling and sagging so I’m just going on his opinion but it’s nice to see someone with similar stats for a rough guide. My surgery is on Saturday so we shall see then! X
