Hi, I’m currently on Mounjaro and am considering breast surgery once I’m at a weight I’m happy with. Does anyone know if you can stay on mounjaro throughout surgery/recovery or whether I’d need to come off the mounjaro completely? I’m finding conflicting advice online.

Hey I had surgery on 27 May and had to stop Mounjaro for two weeks before surgery and two weeks post surgery. (It’s been almost 4 weeks since my last jab) Ive gained 1 stone/14 lbs.

I was almost at my goal weight and thought it was a good time to test myself and see if I can maintain or lose weight on my own but alas I gained instead but that doesn’t mean the same will happen to you, we are all different. I also had to give up vaping so it could be a combination of both.

The I highly suggest you you continue to order from your provider as if you wait more than 6 weeks you’ll have to start all over again and it might be that your provider rejects you as you have lost weight and potentially in a healthy BMI

The other thing to note is if you’re off MJ for more than 2 weeks you’ll have to restart at 2.5mg. My last dose was 12.5mg. I had a chat with my providers MedExpress & Medicine Market Place and having issues with both to reorder. Luckily I manage to get approved by MMP as I had discussed my surgery via phone with the pharmacist. I should have the 2.5mg by Monday

If you continue to order I would go dose lower than what you were on it’ll mean you end up with stock but that’s not a bad thing most providers are having stock issues!!

Good luck & hope this info helps you make your decision. Even tho I gained weight got stressed out with reordering im glad I had my surgery now that I have my prescription im confident ill lose the weight too. Xx
