How annoying?! My gp has been faxed a letter today and I need my medical details sent back to mya on Monday as my op is Tuesday! My doctors don’t think they will be able to complete it by Monday evening meaning I won’t be able to have my ba on Tuesday! Grrr… Why are gp’s no good? I’m away this weekend too and can’t stop stressing about this now! Going to have to ring them constantly on Monday morning to get it sorted ASAP! Anyone else had problems with their gp? xxx

My only problem was that mine charged me 45 quid for the letter!! GRRR!!

Hi there, I’m curious to know why you need a Gp letter? I do know my surgeon requested a letter for my blood but I haven’t been mentioned anything about getting a letter I have my pre op on Tuesday and was told your medical is checked with nurse on the day x

Its Just to make sure with your gp that there isn’t anything you failed to mention that could prevent you from having the op

Yeah the office rung me 🙁 my pc is ringing me tomorrow! Hoping they will pull their finger out on Monday the the gp surgery and do it for me! Otherwise I will not be impressed! I’m geared myself up for Tuesday and will be disappointed if it doesn’t go ahead 🙁 thanks for your fingers crossed for me xxx

Why didn’t Mya get the request to the GP sooner, giving our GP more time?? Honestly it’s not for you to stress about if Mya actually put a little thought into things sometimes there wouldn’t be so many stressed out clients !!
    I’m sure it’ll get sorted hun 😉 x

Hi Shelly, I had exactly the same problem. My GP wouldn’t sign because I was under a CPN. So I had to go through the CPN who wouldn’t sign because he wouldn’t put his name to cosmetic surgery. We rang, and rang, and faxed, and rang and mithered, Even Mr Traynor (so I’m told) rang him. My op was cancelled the day before I should’ve gone in, I was all worked up and ready for going in so you can imagine the disappointment. As it happens the CPN is due to discharge me in April so my op has been re-scheduled for a week after that.

You just have to mither the GP surgery to get their finger out, or ask Mya to speak to your previous GP.

    Good luck. xx

I have my surgery in 5weeks, and the more I read this thread the more curious I would not be happy if my date was delayed because of a Gp letter, however I haven’t been asked to get one neither, but I do remember speaking to my pc and she said she will send a letter to my Gp but I will defo make a call tomorrow or at my pre op ask about this to double check and also get it sorted as I am now very curious about it x hmm

Eek so the more I read these posts about GP letters the more I get worried. My op is on Wednesday and I haven’t been told that there’s any issues with bloods or GP letters…I know they were writing to the (as I understand its standard procedure) I spoke to my PC last week and she didn’t mention anything about it then so I haw assumed that everything’s ok, surely if they haven’t had the GP letter by now they would have called and spoken to me seeing as its so close to my op date. I would be distraught if it was cancelled now as I’ve got everything in place and the time booked off work etc!!!
