OMG just made a shocking discovery – 7 months post op!!

Had another look at my warranty card I had TSF 365 in Left boob and TRF 335 in Right boob. Just looked at catalogue and this means I had ‘soft touch’ in 1 and ‘responsive’ in the other!!!!

How can this be?

This can’t be right surely???????

Im waiting for nurse to ring me back as office manager not in today!

This is a major balls up by MYA – I knew something wasn’t right and now I know why!

I can’t believe I’m reading this!! What a complete balls up!! I’m digging out my warranty cards now to check mine match! Hope you get this sorted ASAP.. Truly shocking!

They have always felt and looked different but I thought this was just because of the different sized implants!!

Nurse rang me, she is very alarmed and MYA are getting my notes from the hospital now.

I know it’s not a mistake on my card as my warranty card has printed labels on it obviously straight from the implant box

If nobody else how the hell did the surgeon not notice

i no i definately didnt get 1 i was quite ill so my mum took the pills & a booklet/catalogue about implants which makes no sense to me uses all big words, & the emergency call yellow card thing. thats all!

I got a card its blue and the stickers from the implants with the serial numbers are stuck onto it – one for left and one for right x

When I woke up back in my room my card was on my bedside table. My nurse told me it was there. It’s just a little card that you open up and it tells you what you had. Some are hand written but mine actually has stickers on it printed – so I know it’s not just a ‘mistake’ which is prob what they would’ve said if it has been hand written!

My warranty cards are in the back of the catalogue/ booklet thingy given to me by the nurse before I left highgate.. It’s on the back cover.. Xxx

mazzza1 I had a 30cc difference as my boobs were very slightly different sized. Your surgeon will advise you on this. x

Hey hun, thats really bad, id be so annoyed and u clearly are with every right. I can empaphise cos when i found out i had the PIP implants in me in jan i was gutted and stressed out, i hope u get it sorted soon xx

All i can say is the nite before ur op i got him drunk in hotel and had my wicked way wiv him so he cud not see properly xx

Do u know when i had my op they brought the implants into my room in the boxes and when i went for surgery they carried em down with me…. i even took pics of them! Sad i know!

Tracy I feel so sick hearing about your implants. It’s such an invasive procedure, you’d think there would be a few checks in place ensure at the least – When an order is placed and it arrives, someone looks at the order, opens the box checks the product and signs it in. Then before the OP at the least a nurse or the surgeon does a physical check before inserting it in your body.

After all you are putting a lot of trust and money for this procedure. All they have to do is get it right….right?

I was never really convinced about having foreign material put into my body. And if they can even get the product right or have some kind of an audit trail to ensure there are processes in place to avoid such massive errors, I’d be careful about this procedure. Was starting to consider but I think I’ll stick with pushup bra’s. Never had issues with my partner not liking my small perky boobs. Guess they must be all butt men lol!!!

I hope as a trustworthy service provider you are compensated well for the blunder. On a positive note maybe it’s a typo but the product was correct. Guess you want evidence of this……

If this has happened its clinical negligence. Its like when patients have swabs left in their bodies after surgery. Everything should be triple checked in theatre no matter what the procedure. (I work in healthcare as a midwife). I know that the checks can be tedious and sometimes you think ‘oh its obvious the dose is xx cos its the same packet as all the others and we use it all the time’ but sometimes things are wrong and we check things so much for these odd occurances when things are not as they should be. I’m sure there should be a checklist to ensure all implant sizes and type are checked along with expiry dates (for sterility) to ensure they are putting the correct product inside the patient. Unfortunately the only way for them to know for sure that you have different implants is to open you up but you should definately seek legal advice as you can claim compensation if procedures were not followed.

Nurse has rang me again (she is lovely by the way) they want me to go down and see Mr T a week on Monday. This is fine but I am 3 hours away from the clinic so I’ve told them I want transport arranged or up front money for petrol/train tickets.

Im gonna have to take the day off work (unpaid) as it is!!! Waiting for them to get back to me! But what a cheek just expecting me to be able to drop everything and go down!
