Hi there,
I am having a closed rhinoplasty with Dr Stefan Gonschior and just wondered if anyone has also had rhinoplasty with this surgeon, how the surgery went and what to expect.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated
XXX
Hi. I am having open rhinoplasty with him soon, so cant offer any advice yet, however if you havent came across this post already, it is a girl who had the same procedure as you, she talks about her experince with Dr Gonschior.
http://www.mya.co.uk/mya-space/mya-forums/topic/jus-had-nose-job-6th-march
What made you decide he was the surgeon for you?
Thank you
When are you having your surgery?
I’ve visited a number of surgeons i found that he was the most professional. He’s really friendly, honest and extremely helpful. It just felt right lol.
From the basis of the consultation i’d recommend him….I’m just getting really nervous now the date is approaching.. What about you? What made you decide he was the surgeon for you?
XX
I am June 16th. How about you?
Its comforting to hear that you think he is the surgeon for you too lol. God, i am so nervous too. My main concern is my new nose changing my other facial features. I was looking at Carley Stetson from Hollyoaks after her op, and she looks unrecognizable, i personally think she looks better now, but a lot of people are saying they preferred her before, which worries me.
I was told by two people that worked at MYA that he was the best for rhinoplasty, and i wanted someone who specialised in the procedure. When i met him, i could tell he was confident in his ability, and i could trust him. I had a consultation at the Harley, but never met with the surgeon, as i felt the consulation with the nurse confirmed that i wanted Dr Gonschior, as you said, it just felt right
Hi girls! I have my consultation with Dr Gonschior on the 27th May. I can’t wait! Since my son accidentally broke my nose I’m so paranoid about it. Really good to hear that your both also having him. X
Mine is June 27th..
I totally understand how you feel, after all the research i have carried out, i have not heard one negative thing about Mr Gonschior. I’m sooo nervous about the results too. Also i’ve never had an operation before so thats a scary thought too.
From the link below, I think Carley Stenson’s new nose is an improvement….but id of been happy with the nose she had before lol. Mine is awful!
hey hey,
Good luck with your consultation
He’s really lovely and has loads of positive feedback
Let us know what you think of him
xx
Good luck with your consultation, let us know how it goes
Same, ive heard nothing but good things about him, which has made me feel so excited about the results, but yesterday, I came across two negative comments on another site, which I haven’t been able to bring myself to read, ive felt sick with worry ever since. But, as you know, one of the first things Dr Gonschior says is, 1 in 10 people are not happy with the results, so im hoping these people just fall into that category. Im assuming such people are aiming for a result that cannot be achieved?!
I love that you have read lots of positive feedback too.
You may have seen these already, but this is a girls before and after pics, she had Dr Gonschior
http://album.sofeminine.co.uk/album/see_611866/NEW-NOSE.html#p1
Hi again,
I read on one forum that this one woman had some form of facial surgery (Jaw i think but not sure) as well as her nose….on one forum she states that she wasnt happy with both procedures but then i found the same person (Same name/profile pic) and she was only complaining about one of the procedures and stated that she was quite happy with her nose. Is that the same negative feedback as u found, or have you found something else?
I know what you mean about reading negative feedback, just got to think Dr Gonschior has so much experience and so much positive feedback that it kind of out weighs the negatives out there. Like you said, not everyone will be happy…therefore its likely they are that one in ten and are probably looking for something that is unrealistic.
I’m a member of that forum too hehe…theres another woman thats had her nose done with Dr Gonschior too ….
http://album.sofeminine.co.uk/album/753009/post-op-0.html#p11
GymRats nose is well nice….I want mine like that hehe
Oh god reading through some – I have found some well negative feedback
Found some more before and after pictures
http://album.sofeminine.co.uk/album/717518/before-after-0.html#p10
The negative feedback on that forum isn’t really backed up with evidence …. Trying to reasure myself here lol…. I’m so worried xx
God the results are amazing but the pics have scared me! I’ve my first consultation on the 23rd May, scared and excited at the same time!
My surgery has just been rescheduled to 16th June…Cuz Mr Gonschior is now unavailable on the 27th…Bit annoying…But now i’m on same day as u prettyhatemachine…..Presume ur at highgate too xx
Hi girls
Just having a read here and thought id reassure you that there’s nothing to worry about. I had ba and rhinoplasty with mr fallahdar and they know what theyre doing. If your that unhappy with your current nose you’ll be thrilled with the results.
I had my cast off on Monday and am so happy with it. Takes months to settle but love it.
Have heard your surgeon is good for noses so good luck
xxx
Thank you Sarahjay
.. I’m getting well scared now… glad to hear everything went well n ur happy
xx
Im sorry to hear they have had to reschedule you, at least it is sooner rather than later though?! I am travelling all the way to London yes, so at least we can now offer each other some support on the day lol
Well, from what you are saying about the chin lady, maybe she had posted her feedback soon after her op? And her nose will have obviously still been very swollen?! If she has posted a comment again on another forum stating she was happy, this could have been at a later date, when the swelling had gone down?!
The comment I read was amongst a number of positive, the girl said he had messed her nose up. The other comment I found said he was dishonest etc, it was really long, but I couldn’t bring myself to read it tbh. It would be helpful to see before and after pics of the people who are not happy. I was told by one of MYA’s members of staff, who you see before you meet with a surgeon, that Dr Gonschiors op list pretty much just consists of noses, and she herself was using him for her rhinoplasty op (I don’t know if that was just her selling, but she seemed like a nice honest girl) this can only mean he is skilled at what he does right?!
I agree GymRats nose looks nice and natural, it looks like she has only had a bump removed or something, but looking at her scar, it appears she has had open rhinoplasty. The other ladies nose looks so much better too, she has quite a fair amount of bruising after her op, but the results are great.
How come the pictures have scared you Skyskpe? Do you mean the ones taken right after op?
Thanks Sarajay
Im pleased you’re happy with your results. The closer the op date creeps up, the more you have to mentally prepare yourself for the change.
I’d just arranged stuff for the weekend after the 16th but doesnt matter…Least we can go through it together now lol
Have you got a long way to travel to London?
I’ve read a few bad ones on that so feminine website…but trying to disregard them all
… He best not mess mine up…..but my patient co-ordinator has reassured me that i’m in good hands – as hes one of the best….maybe a sales technique but still made me feel better lol.
I initially expected open rhinoplasty but Dr Gonschior suggested closed would be better for what I want done….which is a bump removal (or hump…but i hate that word makes me sound like a camel!) and a little bit of work to the tip. What are you wanting out of your rhinoplasty?
My patient co-ordinateor also mentioned about one of her co-workers getting rhinoplasty with him – in July – Maybe she was talking about your patient co-ordinator
but yeah i doubt their own staff would use them if they were really bad.
5 weeks to go ……… Oh god i’m excited but so scared lol xx
Thats a bit annoying, i forgot that you would have had to take time off work etc. Hopefully you have been able to sort everything out now. Im travelling from Liverpool, really not looking forward to the journey home after my op lol. How about you? Are you from London or somewhere else?
Haha, I hate the word hump too, bump sounds a little nicer. Im getting my bump removed, and am having a little cartilage taken from either side of my nose and the tip too, so it is in fitting when my bump is removed.
Where about did you have your consultation? The co-ordinator I know getting rhinoplasty was from Birmingham, and she is having her op in July too, sounds like the same girl?!
Oh gosh, is it that soon. I have this constant nervous feeling, then at some points during the day I get all excited. I look forward to August, we should both be nicely heeled by then, well I know not totally, but a lot of the swelling should have gone down.
xx
Hehe, i’m not looking forward to journey back either…altho im not as far as Liverpool…I thought travelling back to Sheffield was long enough!
I went to a clinic in Nottingham for my consultation, my patient co-ordinater (Jodie) also was from Birmingham, so sounds about right
U sound like your having similar sugery to me….i’m now worried with regards to the open and closed procedures as he also stated to me that I should have cartilage taken from either side of my nose.

Hi,
I had rhinoplasty with Dr Gonschior in february and I am so happy with the results!
he was a fantastic surgeon, went for my check up a couple of weeks ago and all is healing well.
After 3 months most of the swelling has gone down, it’s just the tip thats a bit swollen but no one else but yourself can tell.
I am an air hostess as well and flying hasn’t been a problem.
Hope all goes well with you let me know if you have any more questions but you’ll love the results it has made me so much happier!
Hi there,
Thats fantastic
…certainly put my nerves at ease a bit lol. Pleased everything went well. Did you have a closed or open procedure? How painful was it?? xx
Sheffield is still very far. Are you driving home the day after your op? Or are you staying in a hotel for a night or something?
Yes that does sound about right, so the story seems to check out, unless the girl I spoke with is Jodie… lol
I wouldn’t worry about that at all, everyone is different. I am having the open procedure because Dr Gonshior needs a better view (eww, that makes me feel like vomiting lol) I think you heel a bit quicker with closed, so thats a bonus for you
Trollydolly, its so nice to hear everything went well for you. Have you got any pics up? How long was it before you starting flying again? My nerves have been on edge ever since I came across some negative comments about Dr Gonschior, and im sure hmareiz has been feeling the same.
xx
Yeah will be going home straight away, what about u?? I dont even know if im goin in day before the op, cuz i have no idea what time it will be..
The whole procedure makes me feel like vomiting lol…trying not to think about it, just the end result…I tried watching a video on youtube…it was on about 2 secs n it wa straight off!
xxx
I think i will be going straight home too, unless i feel really sickly. Hmm, same with me, havent been given a time, i thought you had to stay in overnight though, just incase? I think some people request day cases, if they want to try save some money?!
I started watching a documentary about cosmetic surgery a few months ago, one of the opening scenes was a girl getting her nose done, i turned off straight away, it was gross, i dont know how surgeons do it lol.
Im trying my best to not think about the procedure, but im in the middle of an assignment discussing the marketing tools used by cosmetic surgeries, so im finding it hard to not think about my op lol
xxx
hey everyone, i have my first consultation on monday! so excited. if anyone can give me any feedback on there ops or anything like that, open/closed procedures. prices etc etc id really appriciate it! how exciting for us all! hehe xx
Yeah i’m stopping in over night at highgate – I think id be too scared to leave straight after just incase something did go wrong. Then I think we get discharged at 9am! Thats what it says on the highgate hospital website.
lol I can imagine, Is ur assignment for uni or work? I’m at uni, finish in June few days before the operation lol. xx 4 weeks tomorrow xx
I will happily give you some feedback after my op
Hope all goes well with your consultation.
Same, i would want to stay in overnight, just in case… lol
It is for uni. I have my last exam on the 7th, then a week later you know what. Isnt it great we have the worry of uni deadlines etc, then our op, fun times lol.
xxx
Hi girls, I’m having an open rhinoplasty with Dr. Gonschior on 2nd June. So refreshing to read your comments as I feel a bit “billy no mates” as no one I know has had cosmetic surgery. Quite nervous about the op, but fingers crossed he’ll do a good job! Will keep you posted of how it goes. Eeek! x
Definitely let us know how you are getting on after your op
Not long for you to go now. What are you getting done? I think you will be one of the first people i have spoke with who is having open. Most people seem to have closed. How come you chose Dr Gonschior?
xxx
I’m having open as it’s a bit more complicated. Having work on my bridge and tip. Just want it to look smaller / straighter and more feminine. Chose Dr. Gonschior as he was very thorough at my consultation, he was also honest and listened to what I wanted to achieve from having rhinoplasty. Just overall felt more comfortable with him than another surgeon I met. Plus, feel better about it now as I’ve read good reviews on here. He said 60% of his surgery is open, but it I think more of the reviews on here are concerning closed surgery. What are you interested in having? – sorry just seen that you are booked in! Not long for you too!! Good luck. Will keep you updated in a couple of weeks :-)xx
I am having open too. I want my bump removed, and my tip made smaller, but not too small as i dont think i would suit a little nose lol, i just want my nose to look more refined, and like you said feminine. Good luck to you too, i bet you cant wait for the end result. xxx
I had closed rhinoplasty, tip reduced, bump removed with a slight curve, i love it. The procedure was surprisingly NOT painful.
As i am an air hostess i had to have a month off work but i fly now with no problems at all.
I wish you all luck it’s such an exciting time for you and you’ll love the outcomes i’m sure xx
Thank you ladies. prettyhatemachine, sounds like we’re having the same done. I too don’t want mine too small, I’m 5ft10 so wouldn’t suit dinky features. Dr. Gonschior seemed to agree with me which is reassuring! Thank you tollydolly, great to hear a success story, reading about your experience makes me feel so much more comfortable and excited about having it done. Should have my pre op next week x
Hey trolly dolly. Do you have any before and after pics please?
It does sound like we are having similar work done. Hope the pre op goes well, i will be having mine in a couple of weeks. Its so scary and exciting that the big day is just around the corner.
xx
Hey hey, hope ur all well.
Sorry not been on for a while….too much exams and stuff for uni.
Omg 2 weeks on Thursday prettyhatemachine…i’ve got my pre-op on tuesday.
Gd luck for Wednesday bumble281
xx
I had my pre op yesterday, it really hurt when she took my blood, im such a baby lol. I know, i cant wait till its all over with now
Hope your pre-op goes well.
xxx
lol, i know what u mean, ive got a really low pain threshold so id find it painful too..although i only had my bloody pressure taken and asked questions
is that something to worry about? N then told all the stuff that u can and cant do after ….Cant bend over after having it done for 6 weeks thats mad and i dunno how im gonna sleep sat up! xx
Good luck girls. I have my op tomorrow, got to be there for 10a.m. so pleased it’s in the morning. They questioned my blood pressure as well, but haven’t said anymore so presume i’m good to go seeing as though it’s tomorrow! They just have be cautious and make sure you’re in good physical condition. Will let you all know how I get on, starting to feel a bit twitchy now, but not too bad considering. I’m sure tomorrow I’ll hit panic station! This time tomorrow I should have a nice new feminine hooter! Speak soon x
Good luck for 2moro Bumble281. I’m sooo jealous! I can’t wait to have a perfect little nose!! X x x x
Maybe they only take a sample of your blood based on your blood pressure result?! I would just ask your patient co-ordinator, but im sure the nurse would have taken a sample if it was necessary.
I know, we have an excuse for whoever will be looking after us while we recover, to wait on us hand and foot lol. Im so scared about the sleep thing, im convinced im going to roll onto my nose… and the whole cant breath for a few day… and the sore throat… ah, but it will all be worth it in the end
Well Bubble, you can finally say you have been there and done that, i look forward to hearing from you when you’re feeling a bit better, and see what you think of your new nose
xx
Hey girls, sorry for not getting on here sooner, but pleased to say all’s good and better than I thought it would be! Admin time was 10a.m on Thursday, but eventually went down to surgery at 2.15ish. Woke up at 4.45p.m. Have felt no pain, just a bit uncomfortable from having the cast on your nose, but you soon get used to it. You do get a sore throat from the tube, but they will give you ice and water to help soothe it and it’s fine now. As for my new hooter, too soon to tell yet as I have the cast on, but bruising and swelling isn’t as bad as I thought it would be, think sitting and sleeping upright helps. Fingers crossed it’s at its worst now!
Hospital was fine, was great having my own room and didn’t see anyone else apart from the nurses, surgeon and anaesthatist. You honestly have nothing to worry about. You’re in great hands. Dr. Gonschior came to see me before the op and was very reassuring and the nurses were lovely too. I’m just pleased it’s done with now and I’m excited about seeing the end result. Just have to look after it now!
So excited for you all now, not long to go. It will be worth the wait. Feel free to ask me anything if you’re having any wobbles xx
Really pleased it all went well for you. I had no doubt thougth as you had an amzing surgeon!!!! Rest well and take things easy for the next two weeks bet you cant wait to get that cast off now!!! xx
Thanks hun. Can’t wait to get the cast off! Washed my hair for the first time today, I felt a right rotter! Your experience and advice definitely helped prior to the op. Thanks so much x
No worries, yeah i remember washing my hair felt so good the first time! Oh i dont know if you are but i took arnica tablets every day for a week to help with the bruising and the swelling, i think they really worked! You can get them from boots xxx
I’m so excited for you, really happy you’re pleased with the results so far, its got me all excited now.
That’s good that you’re not too bruised. I think its inevitable i will be badly bruised, the bruise on my arm is insane, and that is just from having a blood sample taken lol.
Is so nice to hear everything has gone well. I think rhinoplasty does wonders for a person’s confidence, people don’t understand unless they are in the same position themselves.
So when you sleep up right, do you just find you stay in that position all night?
xx
Hey Girls
xx
Ive just been reading through your posts (nosey I know hehe .. mind the pun) x
Ive got a surgeon consultation with Dr.Gonschoir in August, Its reassuring to hear youve been through or are going through the same procedure I want doing, I am so nervous but I cannot wait to get the surgery done, its been a big issue for me for the last 10yrs & just want it done now ,, is there anything you think I need to ask or need to know?
Many Thanks xx
prettymatemachine, I normally bruise like a peach and I have an array of colours under my eyes, but still not as bad as I thought it would be. Maybe I just prepared for the worst! Re sleeping, as long as you have lots of pillows to keep you upright you’ll be okay. I was nervous of ending up flat anyway, so you end up waking yourself up. Had my stitches out today, very embarrassing being in the centre of London with my cast on, I attracted a few stares! Cast should come off on Tuesday and then I’ll finally get to see the new hooter! It’s a week to go for you now isn’t it?! Very exciting!
Hi xdxexbxsx, welcome to the club. I think this forum is great. Highly recommend Dr. Gonschior, very good manner, very approachable and thorough. He pretty much answered all my questions, but anything you think of, write them down beforehand and take them with you. Don’t be afraid to ask him anything. It was a big issue for me too for many years, but finally bit the bullet. None of it is painful, just be thorough in your consultation and take any pictures of how you’d like it to look or take pictures of yourself that highlight what you don’t like about it. Good to show the surgeon so he’s in tune with you. Good luck xx
That what I’m scared i’ll find difficult – sleeping in an upright position!
It is amazing what rhinoplasty can do, can’t wait to get it all over with now and not have to put up with this horrible nose lol..
Prettyhatemachine i got my op time today of 1pm…have you got yours yet xx
I think i will put lots of pillows either side of me too lol.
How come you have got to wait a few days longer to have your cast off? Even with the cast on do you pretty much have a good idea what your new nose looks like? Im so jealous that you’re that one step ahead lol.
I haven’t had my op time yet. Are you travelling down the night before? This time next week the worst part will be over
xx
lol
I’ve been told I have to have cast on for 12 days, is that same for everyone else? I just cant wait to get it over with, i rang up for my op time so i could book hotel in enough time if necessary, but as its at 1pm i reckon i will just go down on the day as it will take about 3 hrs driving i think, what about u? xx
