Hope your feeling better today. Perhaps a complaint to Mya and the CQC as you seemed to have been letdown in your care quite significantly. An infection can turn serious and should be treated as such. The care in your case needs to be reviewed as it’s quite worrying.

I found any milk had gone after but there was only a tiny amount by the time of my surgery. I then didn’t touch my boobs or nipples for ages after my op not sure if that made a difference or not.
My incision is under my breast, although not planning on any more children I would like to have the option to breast feed in the future if more children did happen although damage to milk ducts is a risk with any Ba. I really don’t think any left over milk production would be an issue, it can just take a long time to completely dry up, as long as you’ve finished feeding so they settle.
Good luck with all the history bits and checks. Def worth making sure you’re all ok and what any further checks you may need in the future etc And how having a ba will affect it.
It most certainly is a minefield @dreamer
But when your all checked and sorted you’ll be even happier with your boobs knowing you’ve done everything right for you xx

    Hi Hun
I looked into this a little as I was still producing some milk, like you not leaking just when squeezed. I didn’t mention it to be honest and no one said anything, when I did a bit of online research it didn’t seem an issue for having a breast augmentation. Some peoples breast can just produce some milk, some for years after breast feeding some just because!!
I had my surgery 7 weeks ago, 5 months after stopping breast feeding (after feeding for 6 months) and since my surgery I’ve not had any milk that I’ve noticed at all!
I and my surgery booked for 6 months after finishing feeding but I when I had my consult I was given the OK by surgeon to bring my surgery forward as there was no more changing to be had.. They had gone lol!
I’m not sure about the family history of breast cancer though, they may be down to the surgeon, I would guess you would maybe have more checks anyway, as you have a family history, but you do Sign the form with the risks with one of them being it may be harder to detect breast cancer or detect it as early.
    Xx

    It’s going well I think @misia
The fluid I kept getting On my left has decreased a lot just waiting for that side to drop and catch up. No pains and getting softer, but definately still a long way to go yet! I am still numb under my nipples too. r u happy? I am happy with the size just being impatient for the changes!

He used a needle to drain but as most of the boob is numb it was just a couple of pinches, really not that bad at all. You lay on the nurses bed thing so your semi recumbent and if you relax your head back then you won’t see and your muscles will be relaxed and it won’t hurt as much. It sounds a bit yuck but honestly not bad at all! They get a good old squeeze to make the fluid come out but as much as it sounds sore it really isn’t. I ached a little while after but nothing more. I hope u get it sorted in the mean time try ice packs, tight bra and sleeping as upright as possible. Let me know how u get on x

Hiya @abbyrosex I would ring your nurse just for peace of mind if nothing else. That’s what they r there for.
From what I read it is very common to have some fluid and it usually goes on its on. I contacted the nurse after a sudden onset, when I saw the nurse it was her first day so didn’t know what to do and therefore I saw my surgeon and he drained it. From the time I saw the nurse till I saw my surgeon was a week and in that time it did get better. I still have some fluid but feeling much better and now a much better shape as the fluid had caused it to be very tight and oddly shaped

In reply to: Moderate profile or high profile?

    Menu

Agree with the above! If any doubt ask your surgeon but I had mod + and when asking why not high profile he said because it will look like 2 bullets!
I think both profiles Can look natural it just depends on you, you body and what size you want.
Although still waiting for the final result I am happy with mine (size, projection) and it is exactly what I had asked for. Don’t be scared to ask though! I was convinced on mod + but couple days before my surgery I had a panic about it but hearing my surgeon say why he thought that profile as well really reassured me in the decision that had been made. Hey Hun. I stayed overnight and stayed in the gown so didn’t need pjs and the beds tilt so I could position myself at the right angle and was comfy with normal pillows but no harm taking your v pillow as then if you want it and are comfy it’s there!! All I used was comfy clothes to go home, wipes flannel toothbrush toothpaste (not easy cleaning your teeth mind!!) and hairbrush (also not easy!) Macom and charger for iPad and phone and some mags, puzzles and pen!!
Make sure u have the button for the nurse nearby and anything else you want to hand before they leave u in the room.
Good luck girls! Exciting times! Xx

As long as no significant change to shape or sudden bruising etc I would pop some ice on and take some painkillers or anti inflammatories. Try to sleep upright and have a try not to do anything to strenuous for a few days to give them time to rest. You’ve boobs feel like they have overdone it so to speak so with rest and looking after they should feel better. If still painful tomorrow I would give the clinic a ring then. Hope u feel better soon xx

Hi. I think you will definately need help for 2 weeks, for the younger one if anything. I have a 2 1/2 yr old and he was easy, he is in a bed, can climb in/out car seat with supervision is potty trained and understood I was sore so was more careful. But my younger one was 11months and whilst she was walking, I couldn’t have lifted her in/out cot, highchair, cuddles etc. I had help for just under 2 weeks and even after I could fill the strain on any lifting, driving and changing nappies!! And she didn’t understand when I looked scared as she came charging towards me!
It is hard, and at times very guilt ridden but I think u have thought it through well and your plan sounds like a good and doable one!

I wasn’t impressed!! But just another one of those things, seem to be a few hiccups in the process so far. Not her fault as she is new.
Luckily not any worse and after icing last night a bit better. I sneezed last night and it pulled right where the main of the problem is so maybe it’s something like that, that has caused a problem, pulled it torn something and caused swelling and fluid? It’s more annoying not having answers as I don’t know what to do for the best!!

Thanks so much for the number @milahennings
She said to monitor the swelling and if increases more to ring back but not to worry and I guess will contact clinic tomorrow to see a nurse. Luckily (!) my mum has the day off tomorrow from when she took time off work for my original surgery date so I can get to the clinic (childcare issues!) feeling so shocked by how it quick (was fine this morning) and guilty, big time mummy guilt. Have a hundred and one things to do tomorrow as it’s my youngests 1st birthday Friday. Fingers crossed wake up and it’s gone!?!

Have you tried ice packs? They were my saviour the first few days. Also have plenty of protein to help your body heal. If your feeling sick your going to feel generaly rubbish and will take longer I think, if your actually being sick I can imagine that hurting your chest area! Maybe the painkillers or the antibiotics are making you feel worse? Maybe worth speaking to your doctor, in the meantime try and have something in your stomach when you take them (especially the ibuprofen!) Hope you feel better soon! X

Same! Right has dropped more than my left. Even though I’m right handed I tend to do more strenuous things with my left arm (changing gears, pushing trolley/pushchair one handed, hold my daughter with left arm) so I guess as using those muscles more it’s not dropping as quick. At least I hope so lol!

    Hi
I had 300 mp unders, I was a 32a and I have found 34c fitting well. It does depend on brand though, I mainly wear a m&s zip up sports bra as that’s most comfy, that’s a 34c but I have a shock absorber in a 32d and it’s far too small over the boobs! Only had my op on the 25th August so still early days but I imagine they will end up a 32c/d, spot on what I asked for. I bought a couple sports bras in both 34c and d and took back what didn’t fit. Happy healing x

It’s a bit like having kids… There is never a right time, because soon they will be older and then they are running around and you are desperate to get out the house for all of yours sanity sake and will feel guilty that you can’t! I used this time as its the end of maternity leave and I have enough time to fully recover before going back into a high physical job, so for me it was a bit now or never!! And I’m so surprised just how well I am recovering and fingers crossed it continues that way! people will always be a bit funny when it comes to boob jobs but they will soon come round after you ve had it done to have a prod of the new twins!! All the best x

The guilt does get you but I rested well, took my painkillers, have actually slept ok (I am used to sleeping where I can as I am a shift worker lol) and have eaten really healthy, lots of protein and a protein shake everyday. Today I feel absolutely fine and have even pushed the Hoover around. I’m still trying to let everyone do things when they are around so as not to push my luck (I haven’t tried driving or putting the little one in/out car yet) definately let your body recover well so you can get back in full mummy mode asap! good luck!!

    Hi
I have a 11 month old and a 2 year old I had my op 9 days ago and yday and today have been lifting my little one about, yday was a bit sore by end of the day but Today is fine, it’s not the lifting that’s hurting its the wiggle headbutt to my boob that hurts! My youngest is walking well and My partner had the rest of the week off (bank hol so and extra too!) and my MIL is staying to help out too. I couldn’t have looked after my little one with in/out cot etc for the first few days and didn’t even try! I’ve had a really good recovery and pain hasn’t been bad but, my muscles had been cut and stitched so as you can imagine lifting and pushing is hard and may cause damage if you do it too early.
My two year old has been easy just say mummy sore and he can do everything himself anyway!
I couldn’t have my little one leaning on my or anything let alone rocking so you will need someone else to look after your little one, I found staying out the way during the times that I normally did (like put to bed) that they were good as gold for whoever was looking after them as I wasn’t there to want!! I had a nice little break sitting in bed and lots of moments of guilt as I felt I had been selfish as couldn’t do my mummy best but if you look after yourself right you will heal quick! Xx

I had a bmi of 17.8. I’m very tall and slim. The nurse didn’t mention it as a problem at all and I didn’t have blood taken but it turned out they wanted a letter from my GP to confirm fitness for surgery and when I quizzed them about it apparently it was because of my bmi (I say apparently as I was told a different reason another time!) all you will need is your GP to respond to the letter mya sents just confirming there is no reason why you can’t have surgery. It was a bit unprofessional for the nurse to insinuate you had an eating disorder when your right, bmi is rubbish! A few hoops to jump through due to procedures but you will get your surgery x

No they didn’t! I just woke up with it on. And only found out at my one week post op check that I have to wear it 24/7 (i had been doing) for another 3 weeks and that I should have been wearing a sports bra with it too (was told I didn’t have to for first week, obviously they got confused with normal strapping!) so if your having someone with you for your surgery maybe make it their job to ask all those questions just in case your tired or feeling sicky after surgery.

    Hey beckii
I’m sure you’ve seen my post
The letter my GP got was, as Tracey said, worded to respond IF there were any problems with the anesthetic or reason not to have surgery so my GP didn’t respond and now it’s a complete joke as mya say they do need a response, despite the letter not actually asking for one. So I would confirm at your pre op what they do want!! They just need it before your surgery, it’s at your pre op you sign the letter sent to your GP
    Xxx

In reply to: Just need to vent my frustration

    Menu

From what I can gather they want confirmation from my GP that there is no reason I cannot have surgery, quite simple if my GP was there but asking another GP there to do it is proving annoying as seems there are just being difficult! A bunch more phone calls today and I like your idea @marley7251 I may ask them to email me a copy as well just in case!!

    @beckii
I didn’t actually get asked! I spoke to my GP when I was there with my son and he said he had received it, discussed it with me, said there is no reason not for me to have it, read the letter to me and said it the wording is if he knows a reason you cannot have surgery so he didn’t feel the need to reply! Only after I asked mya about it a week before my op did I get told they do need a reply and the nonsense begins…..
@lacelabyrinth that is such an awful experience! GPs seem to like making things difficult. It was lucky I saw my GP and spoke to him about it so he was happy with my mental state but now he’s on holiday so I’m worried another GP is going to write a similar badly worded letter as they don’t know me or have spoken to me!
