    In reply to: bras?

    Menu

I didnt wanba waste money on loads of bras i wasnt gonna wear for long so i just had the Macom one to start with then about 4 weeks after op i went and bought a normal sports bra so that I could alternate, they didn’t hurt by then so could reach behind my back to do it up, I got measured then so I got the right size then got measured again after 6 weeks to double check. When I wanted to wash the Macom I put it on radiator to dry which didn’t take long.

In reply to: back to the gym…?

    Menu

I went back at 5 weeks and just eased into it for a couple of weeks. I worked on the basis that if whatever exercise I tried hurt then id stop, at first when I used cross trainer I did not use the arm movement handles, I just kept them still in the middle and worked my legs. I can now do everything I used to do with no pain, I’m 4mths po.

In reply to: SHOWERING help plz!!

    Menu

I just used normal shower gel from 1 week on, at first i didnt get soap on cuts just water but after couple of week I just let the water and bubbles run over the scars rather than actually cleaning them with any sort of flannel or sponge. Then let them dry naturally before dressing. Mine have healed fine :)

In reply to: what does singh use after ba??

    Menu

The tape is bearable for the week but yeah does make u feel grubby after a few days, it’s nice when u get to take it off. I didn’t have drains in either :)

In reply to: how tight should macom be? xx

    Menu

Dunno how it works, was just what I read on the Macom website :) Mine felt tight at first but I liked that made me feel more secure lol!

In reply to: how tight should macom be? xx

    Menu

Yeah supposed to b quite tight as it is a compression bra (meant to reduce risk of infection), I found it easier to do it up above boobs then pull it down over them. Do it up on the widest setting to start with then as swelling goes down then make it tighter.

I started back at the gym at 5 weeks, just slowly at first to see what felt ok if anything hurt I stopped. I started running on the treadmill once I discovered that 2 sports bras are much better lol, I’m now 3 months po and can do everything I did before ba

Hi surferosa, I’ve added u. I had 525 overs with mr Singh on 21/12/11. I too did not have much breast tissue left so was warned about rippling. I am v.happy with result and can only visibly notice the ripples when I first take my bra off – the settle back into shape after a few seconds lol

In reply to: Tape removal tomorrow will it really hurt??

They dont use a solution, the nurse just asked if i wanted to do it myself or let her, i did it very slowly and it was ok not painful. The sticky residue it leaves is a nightmare tho cos it does not wash off and takes ages to wear off lol

In reply to: How many checks after op?

    Menu

For BA, if uv got no probs then it’s usually 1 week after op with nurse to take tape off and to check cuts, then 6-8 weeks check up with surgeon then 1 year for check up with surgeon.

In reply to: Off topic teacup puppy

    Menu

They r very cute, my friend is planning on buying a teacup dog, the only thing with them is she tells me they usually only live for about 5 years :(

In reply to: when did you exercise post op?

    Menu

Reecara yeah running on treadmill’s good, I hadn’t done it too much since op cos I didn’t like the boobs moving, but the 2 bras does the trick so I’m back into it tho im not tryna lose weight, ppl already moan that I’m too slim but think they r just jelllll lol! I too wear lil tops at gym it’s fun watching all the heads turn lol!

In reply to: anyone 520cc overs from a 32b?

    Menu

I was an empty 32b, now e-f depending on what shop.

In reply to: when did you exercise post op?

    Menu

I started back at gym at 5.5 weeks but only light exercise of Lower body. Now when I run on treadmill I wear 2 sports bras which I find more supportive as I don’t want them to bounce at all. I’m 9.5 weeks p.o now, can do as much as I did before op with no pain at all.

In reply to: what is morning boob??

    Menu

It’s just like bad aching for a very short while when u 1st wake up, u won’t get it anymore once bruising has gone, all my aching was completely gone by about 6 weeks.

They dont use any hospitals in Chelmsford for surgery, u have to go into london for all the hospitals, I also asked. The clinic in chelmsford is a private dental practice!

In reply to: Best Sports Bra for excercising?

    Menu

The best one to get is Shock Absorber bra level 4 (the highest level support – ideal for running and jumping) available in debenhams, I have one cos I go to the gym everyday, it’s a bit pricey at £28 but worth it to look after ur assets lol

In reply to: Anyone Happy with results and care?

    Menu

My boobs had shrivelled to nothing following having kids and weight loss, had 525 overs with mr Singh 8 weeks ago and am v.happy with results, am now 32e/f :)

In reply to: Post surgery bra

    Menu

Macon is the best to get cos u don’t have to know the cup size just band size. I’ve read that compression garments aid healing process. Ive got one and wore it continuously for 6 weeks. I now wear mixture between level 4 Shock Absorber sports bra, m&s high impact wireless sports bra and my Macom but the sports bras are nowhere near as comfortable as, I would have hated to wear them just post op, but in 7 weeks on now so they’re ok after a few wears.

In reply to: Question for after BA qirls who have small children..

    Menu

I’ve got an 11mth old and 6yr old, and had to start doing everything again after 5 days cos my husband broke his leg. I just try to lift the baby as little as possible and when carrying her I don’t put her against my chest cos she wriggles around a lot. I change her downstairs and sit on the floor to avoid bending to change her. It’s been ok really, I had my op just over 2 weeks ago and don’t really get pain anymore just occasional twinges.

In reply to: Reassurance!!!!!! I'm panicking!!!!!

    Menu

My friend calmed my nerves by telling me it’s just like waking from a nice long sleep when she had her nose done, and yeah it was, I woke up feeling my chest to check the op had been done lol

Yeah u will get another opportunity to speak to ur surgeon just b4 op :)

In reply to: Advice needed! What Is the best bra to wear post op??

    Menu

I got the macom bra as I didn’t know what size I was going to end up so didn’t know which sports bra to buy plus they all do up at the back which would require someone to help, I figured I would be able to get some of the money back for the macom by selling on ebay when I’m finished, whereas the sports bras might end up too big by the time the swelling goes down and won’t be able to sell them on. I found the best way of doing up the macom was by doing all the hooks up above my boobs and then stretching the bra over them. I got a 32 band bra which is my usual size and it fits me fine :)

    Menu

I ended up buying a new Macom in the end because the sports bras didn’t seem suitable post surgery as u don’t know what size ul b, but figured I would get some of my money back when I’ve done with it by selling on eBay. I’ve seen a couple of people selling used ones on the gumtree website

I also had my ba yesterday and was bricking it beforehand but as soon as they put they anasthestic in my hand I was out of it and woke up before I knew it in the recovery suite, I had to feel my chest to find out if it was done lol. Mr Singh was my surgeon as well, Highgate hospital is nice and the staff there are all friendly and helpful. The pain is not too bad more like a strong ache but they send you away with painkillers and anti-biotics.

    In reply to: Rippling

    Menu

I am also worried about this, I have seen 2 different surgeons and they have both conflicted each other, 1st surgeon said I should have 525 hp overs and said I’d only notice rippling when leaning forward, 2nd surgeon said that they would look rubbish and I would be unhappy after just a few weeks, he’s really knocked the confidence out of me and my op date is next week and I now don’t know what to do. Nikki, are yours under or over muscle?

In reply to: Bra size what the surgeon predicted?

    Menu

The surgeon I saw refused to predict a size even though I told her I didn’t want to be above an E. She also refused to look at pictures I had taken with me :/ Theres not much info on here about her, but the few things I have read are only positive, anyone else had Dr Grob?
