• In reply to: How far in advance can I book my rhino op?

    Menu

Hi there, I booked my open rhino with Dr. G in November for April, so quite far ahead…. Good luck! x

In reply to: swelling 9 months!!

    Menu

I am 5 months po and my tip is still very swollen, esp. in the mornings! Even though I use my V-pillow :-( my bridge is slightly swollen.

We all need to be patient I guess!!! x

In reply to: What price was you quoted?

    Menu

Hi there, I had mine in April (open septho rhino) and I paid under £5k but I was a day case. You can add me and see my before/after pics. x

In reply to: Off Topic – Exfoliant

    Menu

yes, they do not sell in shops I believe. But the delivery is really fast :-)

In reply to: 10 weeks rhinoplasty pure swollen chubbyness 🙁

    Menu

Hi, I am 15 weeks po now but I had the same experience. My tip especially got really hard and swollen, but it it slowly getting better I think. But some days it is more swollen than others….so it’s totally random I guess.

I am still sleeping on my V-pillow, so I cannot roll to my front in the night. That helps a lot! So maybe you should consider getting a V-pillow to support you sleeping on your back and side to reduce swelling??

I think we all need to be PATIENT and let it all heal up properly, this can take up to 1 year. So let’s stay positive :-) Happy Healing! x

    In reply to: Bad smell

    Menu

This is completely normal! I am 14 weeks po and still sometimes smell it, but getting much better now….x

    Hi Nikki,

I totally understand your worries, and I had a very similar experience. I am 13 weeks po and my tip is still swollen….it will take many months to completely go down, so just be patient.

Try to sleep elavated with lots of pillows – that helps me. I also find the less I touch my nose, the less is the swelling.

But apart from that there is no other advise I can give you I am afraid :-(

Good luck and happy healing!!! x

    In reply to: Anybody notice?

    Menu

Hi there, funny enough noone I did not tell noticed anything. I did not tell anyone at work, and my dad doesn’t know either :-) and I am 12 weeks PO now.

Don’t worry about it, many people might think you look different/better but they most likely won’t notice a change in your nose as such! x

    In reply to: Mr Gonschior??

    Menu

Hi there, I had a septo rhino with Dr G in April. I took 2 weeks off work, and it was good for me. My nose was still very swollen when I went back to work but noone noticed! The full recovery is much longer of course, but I think 2 weeks is a good start to get you back to normal working life :-)

    Good luck! x

In reply to: Nose more swollen in the morning – anyone else had this?

    Menu

    lol!

I do want my tip to get smaller quickly, it is still very swollen atm. That is the last thing to recover I guess :-(

Can’t wait to finally wear sunglasses again!!! x

In reply to: Nose more swollen in the morning – anyone else had this?

    Menu

I usually have a light sleep so I can stay on the V-pillow :-)

Yes the nose spray is the best I tried so far, and I only use it mornings and evenings… but I can see that my nose is getting smaller and smaller by the day so that keeps me motivated to use the V-pillow and sleep upright :-) x

In reply to: Nose more swollen in the morning – anyone else had this?

    Menu

Mine is also more swollen in the morning (11 weeks po). But I use Sudafeed blocked nose Spray which helps a lot. A V-pillow is also a good investment!!! :-) x

    In reply to: Nasal spray

    Menu

    Hi there,

to be honest I did not use my nasal spray after surgery, it did not help. But I bought another one (Sudafed) and started using it 4 weeks PO, which helped with the blocked nose. But right after the surgery my nose was sooo swollen inside that the spray did not make any difference whatsoever.

Just give it a try and see for yourself, it won’t hurt I guess :-)

    Happy Healing! x

In reply to: Closed rhino with the wonderful wonderful Dr G – 7th May!!!

    Menu

It depends if you have open or closed procedure, etc. It will be between £3.5k and £5k. When you go for the consultation they will give you a rough idea. Once you meet the surgeon he/she will tell you for sure.

Hi there, I also had open septho rhino with Dr G. 6 weeks ago, pls feel free to add me :-)

He is one of the best in his field, honestly. He specialises in nose reshaping for many years and takes his job very seriously. I am soo glad I went with him! x

In reply to: is it supossed to be this uncomftable 🙁 day 3 rhino

    Menu

hi there, sorry to hear that you feel like this. Is it better today?

I am 5 weeks PO now and I remember I did not have any paid really, but it was uncomfortable. However my face and eyes were soooo swollen and bruised, I thought it will never get back to normal :-) Of course it did. Day 2,3 and 4 were the worst for me, then it got better every day (slowly but surely). So maybe you should call the nurse if it doesn’t get better soon. I guess you are running out of painkillers soon (the ones they give you in hospital last around 5 days I think).

I so hope you feel better soon!!! x

    In reply to: Advice Please!!!!

    Menu

    Hi there,

    DO NOT WORRY AT ALL!!!!

I had septo rhino 4 weeks ago, and only stayed the day, but I suggest you pack comfortable clothes as you probabely won’t leave your room anyway :-)

All I can tell you is, that the hospotal staff will look after you very well, and all you will remember is falling asleep within 2 seconds once they inject you…..then you wake up with a bunged up nose and you will be soooo relaxed!

    Honestly, you will be fine!

So all the best for tomorrow!!!! x

No worries! I looked like a mouse for a week (with my swollen face and lip) :-) lol But trust me, it will all be fine soon. x

Hi there, yes I had the same issue. My upper lip went back to normal around 2 weeks post op…..so just hang in there and don’t worry about it too much. Everything will get back to normal soon! Happy Healing! x

    In reply to: Cheek fillers

    Menu

    Hi all,

I am also thinking of getting shadows under my eyes done (with dermal filler – Jevederm) via MYA. I have a consultationn this week to meet the specialist nurse. I am a bit worried that it is too early to get the fillers as my nose is still swollen from open rhino (3 weeks post op), but let’s see what the nurse says :-) x

In reply to: How do I tell my dad!!! 🙁

    Menu

I only told my mom after the op, my dad still doesn’t know as he would not understand I think. But as gbbx said, most men don’t notice these kind of things. At the end of the day it is entirely your decision what you want to do :-) x

In reply to: Open Rhinoplasty in 2 weeks with Mr Gonschoir

    Menu

I had open septo rhino with Dr. G. 3 weeks ago. I am soo happy about the results and the whole experience! I should have done this years ago!

You can add me to look at some pics :-) Any questions let us know! x

In reply to: added pics with nose cast off

    Menu

Your nose looks amazing babes!!!! x

In reply to: my pics are up open rino

    Menu

@ christa: I had the same issue with cleaning the skin around my nose, which was also peeling off a couple of days after cast came off. It’s all that sticky stuff from the tape! lol

Mine is getting better slowly but my breathing is also not back to normal. I am still swollen INSIDE my nose, so can’t breath properly, but should get better soon.

The only thing that annoys me now is the white stitches inside my nose…..grrrr!

Good luck to everyone for their op’s! x

Thanks for sharing this info! It gives me even more confidence that my nose will change over time and improve! I can’t wait though :-)

    Menu

Hi there, I had my cast off on Saturday. I like my new nose a lot but I know it is still swollen, so it will get smaller and more refined over the next coule of months. I can’t wait! You should give it some time :-)

In reply to: i had my open rino a few days ago 9/4/12

    Menu

I am glad you feel better! I was also woried in the beginning and am happy to help!

My tip looked also huge in the first couple of days….it got better with time and today it is a lot smaller!

What annoys me is that my nose INSIDE is still swollen so can’t breath through my nose :-( But hope it gets bette soon.

I a getting my cast off on Saturday! Can’t wait to see my new nose :-) x

Hi, I am 7 days post op. My eye lids were also very swollen after surgery, also my entire face including lips. After 3-4 days it went down considerably, and today I have close to no swelling, just some remaining bruising on the eye lid! Not a good look but it will also go away soon. So don’t worry about it. Drink lots of pinapple juice and try some ice for your eyes. It helped me a lot! Happy Healing :-) x

    In reply to: Operation tomorrow!

    Menu

Great I am happy you getting on fine!

I am 4 days post op today, and I also start to feel a lot better. The most difficult thing is breathing through your mouth tbh! Everything else is managable I think. I was pretty bruised after surgery and had two black eyes really, but they are turning green-ish slowly which is a good sign :-) Also swelling moves from eyes to nose, to cheecks to upper lip, etc. It’s crazy but normal guess.

    Happy Healing! x

Good luck lizba!!! You will be fine!! x

In reply to: Is smoking really interfering with your healing process?

    Menu

Yes it is difficult to cut down…I did not smoke since Sunday :-) I try to limit smoking only to weekends! lol

But I have to say that I eat a hell lot more chocolate than I used to!!! Oh well, my skin is getting worse but it’s all for the good I hope!

I also tried the e-fags, but I did not like them tbh – wired taste!

Where is your sugery Charlie? Mine is at Highgate Hospital, London. B x

In reply to: Ops on 10th may anyone?

    Menu

Hi Gaby, I am on the 5th April, sorry. But I will share my experience here with you and others after op :-) Don’t worry, you will be fine! B x

In reply to: Is smoking really interfering with your healing process?

    Menu

Thanks for your feedback. I am a bit paranoid about the healing process :-( I hope I do not bruise too much!

Yea I will try and stop smoking for good….let’s see how that goes. lol

Also I go running regularly and do Yoga, and I wonder how long I need to wait post op until I can go running again?? Does anyone have any experience with that? B x

    Hi girls,

I am booked for my open rhino on 05th April…..I added some of you to see some pics of your new noses! I am so excited and can’t wait to see my new nose!

I am a day case, so my surgery is in the morning. I am hoping that I will be fine to go home in the late afternoon or so. I live in Central London, so not too far from Highgate Hospital :-)

Hope you all get on well! x

In reply to: Septo Rhinoplasty my story so far

    Menu

    Hi amb101,

Thanks for sharing your story so far. So how do you feel now a couple of weeks post op? Do you have some pics to show your new nose :-) ?

I am booked in for my surgery (open rhino) on the 05th April, which is in like 10 days. I am excited and can’t wait for the results! I do trust Dr. G and think he will make my nose beautiful :-) I wish to have my hump removed, and tip reduced and refined a lot.

So let me know how it goes with your recovery please.

I booked off 1 week from work, and another week working from home. So I hope I will be healed up in just over 2 weeks as I didn’t tell any people from work (only friends and family)!!

Tale care and enjoy your new nose :-)
